Fat Smash Diet FIASCO

Has anyone else out there tried the Celebrity Fit Club Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian? I am having miserable results and want to know if others experienced the same on the plan. I'm on day 7 of the detox portion. I have been faithful (except for 1 cup of coffee a day.) I know I wasn't supposed to weigh in until day 10 but got curious. I was shocked to see that I'm actually up 4 POUNDS! WHAT??!!

Well, that's it for me. I've been faithful to my gym workouts too so this seems utterly ridiculous to me. I'm going back to the Body for Life plan. I thought I needed a jump start and now feel like I've lost a week of progress in my effort to be presentable in a swimsuit by August 14th.

I'm bummed and disheartened. Sometimes I wonder if I should just resign myself to being the cute, smart chubby girl.

for me, no official 'weight-loss plan" has worked. I've gotten this far with my own dedication and will power, and the support of this forum. Most of these diets don't work, or they work just as long as you stay on them. The best way to lose exercise is calorie control and exercise. Same as it's been forever, no matter what fancy name anyone puts to it.

Should have known better

Thanks for your response. It looks like we are on a similar weight loss road. How long has it taken you to lose the weight you've lost? It looks like you are doing all the right things.

I think I just need some comeraderie. I have "skinny" friends and always feels like the elephant in the room. I'm not that big but I have a skinny mini-me screaming to get out.

I just need some support, I think. I KNOW I can do THIS!

i will agree with xorie, i have tried many "official" type weightloss programmes - w/watchers,atkins etc and i have started to lose weight (in some cases), lost motivation/got bored, gone on a never ending binge and ended up heavier than ever.
i have done it this time mainly on my own, with the encouragement of my gp`s surgery and motivation mainly from here. just counted the calories and upped my activity level. once the pounds start disappearing, you lose inches and dress size/s, this will encourage you even more. great feeling to be able to go into a "normal" sizes clothes shop (after years of limited choice outsize shopping) and buy something. slim

cravings

Slimby - thanks for the encouragement. It looks as though you have found something that really works for you. My biggest problem is CRAVINGS. Any advice would help.

Thanks!

What are you craving? if your craving something you are restricting then have a small portion of it...

Though some people have found success with the Fat Smash Diet, I didn't last one day. I can't follow extreme diets like this. I am better off cutting back slighly on calories and exercising more to lose weight. but everyone is different.

Spencerz, you seem to be exactly like me!! I have always done body for life and was about 135 lbs. I am 5'9". A year later gained all the weight back and was at my usual 185. (Recently ballooned to 210!!!) I tried the fat smash diet and gained weight. I'm gonna go back on the Body 4 Life.

It works great. Good luck!!.

Boooo at the Fat Smash Diet!!! :P

I did dr. ian's diet for a few days and felt light headed weak and tired all the time. I was about to pass out when I finally ate something and the felt so good I cleaned my whole house. I did body for life for 3 weeks or so in high school and lost a bunch of weight and it really works but it's pretty hardcore and I really don't like buying all the shakes/bars. I am just eating less and exercising more now.

I too am running on a `no plan' diet, and it's working well.

Cravings? You can eat anything in moderation. I love chocolate, and allow myself a couple of squares of superfine dark chocolate during the week. On saturdays, I buy myself a small sampler of superfine chocolates from a shop down the road, and really take the time to savour them.

The thing I find with cravings is that the longer I go without falling to them, the less they become. I used to struggle to avoid buying sugary things in the supermarket, now I look at them and think `I don't want that'. Try and visualise how much exercise it would take to rid yourself of the calories in the things you crave.

In my experience, any diet with "Celebrity" or "Hollywood" in the title is junk... even if the creator has "Dr" in his name.
