This is how I have done it too. I found, especially in the beginning, that weighing myself everyday was great for my motivation and confidence. As I get closer to my
goal and I am losing less per week, I do not find the daily trips to the scale quite as exciting. Sometimes I weigh in every other day or every third day, but for me it is still a good way to keep myself in check.
I think in my case there is a certain amount of fear that motivates me to keep a very close eye on my progress. The fear is that if I start to slide back into my old lifestyle, even a little, I may spiral out of control and gain the weight back. I have worked way too hard to let that happen, I am never going back. It is probably not necessary and I am probably overly obsessive about it but it has worked for me. Just my 2 cents
