Rep Power: 0 | | Newbie Diet! Questions?! Alright, i've never been on a "diet" before really. This is my first actual serious commitment to it, and I need some advice, and opinions on my current routine.
I'm a 20 year old female, 175lbs, 5,4. DIET:
Breakfast: Special K Cereal, 12 cup of 2% milk. 300Cal. 500mL water. If i'm in a hurry i'll just grab a banana.
Snack: Sillouhette yogurt, 500mL water. 40Cal.
Lunch: When i'm at work, I usually grab a Wendy's grilled chicken wrap, with no cheese, and no sauce. 500mL water. 190Cal.
Snack: Baby carrots, with fat-free ranch dip. 500mL water. 100Cal.
Dinner: Chicken breast salad with onions, black olives, tomatoes. If I add fat-free Italian, the calorie content is 220Cal. If I add fat-free ceaser dressing, the calorie content is 320Cal. 500mL water.
Snack: Nectarine (60Cal), or Yogurt (40Cal). 500mL water. WORKOUT
I walk EVERYDAY in a local trail, at a normal pace, for 1 hour, 10 minutes.
I then go to the gym in the evening 6 days/week. At the gym my routine is as follows:
20 minutes on the bike, at a faster pace, keeping my heart rate between 130-140.
10 sets of 10 on the weight machine, that works my arms, 30Lbs.
10 sets of 10 on the leg weights machine, 40Lbs.
10 sets of 20 half sit-ups.
Then a cooldown for 10 minutes on the treadmill, walking at a fast pace.
Now, on Sundays I usually neglect my diet, and have a few treats here and there. A fast-food hamburger, but skip the fries, and coke, or some chips. Things like that. BUT I still take my normal 1 hour and 10 minute walk, but I do not visit the gym on Sundays. QUESTIONS:
Am I making a mistake by skipping my diet on Sundays, and eating a few treats? Should I refrain from doing that and just stick to my normal routine?
Is my calorie intake too low? Will I loose weight too fast, only to put it back on afterwards?
Is my workout routine too intense? Should I up it a bit? or should I add/remove a few things?
Thank you in advance! |

Rep Power: 8414 | | Personally, I wouldn't make a habit of completely skipping your diet one day of the week, every week. It's ok to splurge every once in a while, but once a week is pushing it.
Welcome to the site, by the way. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | 3 main keys to lose weight: eating, exercise, lifestyle. it is easy to say but hard to do.
I can't change my eating habit, so exercise cant help me lose much.

Rep Power: 0 | | Focus on the diet first. Get comfortable with cutting foods out first. If you jump right into it including exercise you might find it too hard and give up. Introduce exercise slowly, keep going for your walks, but enjoy them, don't push yourself.
I wouldn't use sunday as a break every week, your body will just get used to it and you won't lose weight as fast or maybe even not at all. Do enjoy your self though, it doesn't need to be torture! and don't forget to mix up your meals a little. I know people probably want to kill but cause I am always raving about this site groovybluetees.com but it is a fountain of information.
I'm 20 aswell and really wanna shed the excess 100lbs for my 21st! and in a few months I've lost 3st! just a few to go! I use weight watchers, they are fantastic.
Anyway, best of luck to you!
Take care,
Vilandra.
P.s. Can someone pleasetell me how to add my ticker to this site? Ive tried every variation of the code and it ain't working! thank you.
