Rep Power: 0 | | | Anyone in the Washington/Portland area??? Hi all,
I'd LOVE to hook up with people in the Pacific Northwest who are wanting to lose weight - especially anyone who might be interested in a dance class. I've been thinking of adding a weight-loss class to my schedule once my calf tendon is healed. Anyone interested? A totally safe and accepting environment to be ok where we are and work toward firming up and losing weight. Sounds good to me - I'd sign up! lol.
But regardless, if you're in my area, let me know. I'm about half an hour north of Portland in Southern WA. And I have great walking paths near my house
And I'd love to hear about healthy places to eat out around here. There seem to be more obese people in this area than anywhere else I've been. And less access to health food!
So let me know where you hang your hat.

Rep Power: 0 | | | i was so hurt today OMG! I thought i was going too cry today.
I was at work and it was a co-workers B-day.
and near the end on work we had a cake for her.
A little office party.
I wasn't going too have any but a friend said too me.
that i look great from all the weight I've lost and having a piece wont hurt.
and she said i needed too enjoy life too.
so i took a piece. and right when i started too take my first ****.
this guy said too another person
DOES SHE THINK SHE REALLY NEEDS THAT CAKE!
and then he laughed
now this guy is new at the office and he doesn't know that i lost about 73lbs over all . and he doesn't know me at all.
the best part was that my boss heard that guy say that too and took him thin the off and laid into him and chewed his butt for making that comments.
i was so upset
just trying too fit in
god comments like that hurt so much |

Rep Power: 0 | | I live about four hours from vancouver, but I spent about 5 years in Vancouver and I go down there to visit regularly with my relatives.
I really can't suggest anyplace to eat out that has a healthy or even healthier menu over all, but I know that WinCo has some amazing deals on food, and my grandparents shop there for their groceries all the time.
Jenny- That guy was obviously just being a jerk. Congratulations on the 73pounds. Hang in there and don't let jerks like that get you down. Just remember that people that feel the need to put down other people have something they feel the need to compensate for. |

Sounds like we're about at the same level in the old weight loss battle. Sigh. I've got about 40 pounds to go, but am having a heck of a time getting started. I've had good luck losing weight in the past, but not this time.
I haven't been to WinCo but there are a few around. I found the health food section at Fred Meyer's which was a pleasant surprise. One of my dance students is bringing fresh zucchini and tomatoes to class for me, so that has been nice.
There's a new yoga studio opening in Hazel Dell and I've been asked to teach dance there, so will be doing 4 classes a day, 2 days a week if we can get the schedule worked out. That might help - 2 killer days, then I teach in my home studio two more days, plus doing my videos. I'm hoping to do a weight loss bellydance class, and join in doing the weight loss part WITH my students. Hopefully I can start making some progress
If you're coming down for a visit, let me know - maybe we can get together for coffee or something.
Good luck
Jana

Rep Power: 0 | | | Hey there. I'm in Auburn (although technically I'm in San Antonio at the moment).
Jenny - 2 lbs./wk is awesome, but 12 lbs... whoa baby! I've never had a loss like that (always 2-3 lbs per week for me), but when I change my menu up (adjust cals or change ratios) I'll usually get pushed off of a plateau.
Also, as far as the guy at the office is concerned, #1 Good Job, Boss! It's awesome that your boss "chewed him a new one"! #2 While the comments like that do hurt, I'm curious to how you reacted to it? And lastly, #3, when confronted with the temptation of cake in the office and you want to fit in, aim for the smallest piece that you can find or do a half-piece, and don't touch the frosting. I have personally found that by following this idea that I don't feel like I'm not part of the gang, yet I'm not demolishing my calories for the day.
Keep up the great work, you're doing great! 73 lbs. is AWESOME!!! | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
