Ahh, I don't agree with that. A good trainer is "good" regardless of where he/she's been. Who have they helped and with what kind of success? How well do they understand the sciences of the
body? How well can they apply them to their clients? Do they have proven results from these people? How well do they connect with and understand their clients? The list goes on.
Put it this way. If I, God forbid, get cancer.... you damn well better believe I am going to find the best doctor in my area. Not the one that has shared the experience of having cancer too.
IMO, it's about knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge coming from their persistent effort to build an ever-growing foundation of education. Wisdom from the application of this education.
Again, merely my opinion.
I mean, I am around a lot of forums. I can't tell you how many times I have found mostly guys, who have lost a boat load of weight, now advertising themselves as a
fat loss or
fitness expert. I mean, come on! That is just bogus.
Just because someone went from 300 lbs to 150 lbs... that means they know how to make other people lose weight? I don't think so.
How a trainer looks is no indication of his/her ability IMO.
