Yes, fat cells do have a "memory." This is why people who were obese as children struggle with weight issues and have to work harder on their bodies than people who were slim as children. Scientists are working on a way to stop the cells from telling our brains we need more food. Meanwhile, we have to keep ourselves slim with extra effort.
