To the OP, I think you have to ask yourself why you are thinking about going low carb. There's nothing magical about it.... some people do well with it, others not so much. The secret is eating less
calories than you expend in a given period of time. If low-carb is the vehicle that best meets your needs, have at it. Just remember, there are a lot of vehicles to choose from and none are the best fit for everyone.
