No, you don't look like a fool at all. It's just that rice doesn't make you
fat. An intake of
calories above and beyond what your
body needs leads to an increase in
body fat.
How did your brother lose the weight?
What I promote is eating a balanced, calorically-controlled
diet consisting primarily of 'healthy' foods in addition to stuff you like too. I've found this to have the highest success ratio and be the easiest thing to follow. Once something like this doesn't work, then might be the time to use a more extreme approach.
The thing is though, assuming
calories are controlled on a consistent basis relative to the needs of your
body.... it has no choice but to succeed.
