The thing is, I'm just sharing what an expert in the industry has written. You know this.... but what you're missing is, his target audience is most certainly not your typical member you find here on WLF. Lyle's forum is comprised of a lot of professionals and true
fitness/nutrition junkies.
At the same time though, every now and then he writes something that is very applicable to all populations although it tends to be a bit wordy. This isn't even bad as a matter of fact.
So I think it's best to share it than not share it.... but I could be wrong. At the very least, it can stimulate interesting conversation. Hell, even if you learn one thing.... learning is learning and that can't be a bad thing in my opinion.
I guess the only downside can be confusion leading to more than necessary frustration. In that case, I hope people ask for clarification before they throw their hands up.

May I ask your opinion on the whole Neat/SPA part of the equation?

Opinion in what sense?
Do I think it plays a major role?
I do.
I take myself personally. I have a hard time putting weight on, even when it's a
goal and something I am trying to do. Then I look at my tendencies and I'm am constantly, constantly moving. Even when reading a book in bed before I fall asleep, I feel the need to hang my leg off the side of the bed and bounce it.
I walk quickly wherever I am.
I'm hyper.
It goes on.
This stuff accumulates over time and the net caloric expenditure I believe can impact people's
weights and/or goals over time.
I posted an interesting audio/video review of NEAT on this forum... you can find it, I'm sure, by searching for the word NEAT and my username.
