The Jolly Rancher thing- I highly doubt that did anything. You are what 17-18 and play
sports? I highly doubt you need to speed up your metabolism. And 20 lbs in 2 weeks is really only possible with a crash
diet of some sort for someone your size.
Are you tracking
calories in any way? Do you know your BMR?
This is the only real way to figure out if you are eating enough to lose effectively.
Read the stickies in the
nutrition forum and Google Harris Benedict equation.
That should get you the knowledge to do what you want to do.
