Too fat for the bike?

I used to bike every day to school (remained fat, but this is irrelevant to my topic).

But, eventually, all of the back tires on all of the bikes somehow deflated. I don't know how, but there are people who have suggested it's because I'm on the fat list.

Well, at the time I was about 270lbs I think, now I'm a bit less than that. I was considering buying new tires for the bike, but I don't want to waste money if it is just because I'm too fat.

Do bikes have a weight limit?

Also, (this next question belongs in the exercise forum I'm sure, but since I've already started typing the main question here) is biking a lot of stress on the ankle as compared to say, running?
