energy.
Energy balance is what dictates
weight gain, loss or maintenance. Our bodies are basically storage depots of
energy...
fat being the largest. If you eat more
energy (calories) than you expend throughout the day, the excess will be stored. If you expend more
energy than you eat during the day, the deficit must be made up and that comes from your storage (body tissue).
Macronutrients are things entirely different than
calories.
They too are extremely important. Getting adequate amounts of the essentials such as protein and good fats is vital for success and health, for instance.

calories in it
1 gram of
fat has about 9
calories in it
So you can see the relationship. A balanced
diet is a good
diet IMO, in most instances.
Fat and carbs are not evil.
