Eating well has been a challenge for me as well. I can tell you what I have been doing that has worked for me-
I found a good online calorie counter, I use calorie count plus from about.com, but a lot of people on here use fitday or other sites. I didn't realize how many
calories I was actually consuming until I put all of my food into the calculator. This was a big first step for me.
In order to not be overcome by cravings I decided that I would stick to my eating plan during the week and if I had cravings I would eat what I wanted during the weekends. This has been working really well, I don't feel deprived because I know I can just have what I want on the weekends. I figure that if I am eating well 5 days a week, there is only so much damage you can do during 2 days.
