| me too I need to lose 100 pounds, too. I have always thought I would be happy with a smaller loss, but only once succeeded inlosing about 20 pounds. I got pregnant with my twins after that, and then the weight came back.
I started a journal on May 11 and the first words I wrote were, "I want to lose 100 pounds!" I then wrote my start weight and my goal weight. There was something profound about seeing those numbers down on paper.
I am trying to take things one 30 day period at a time, setting small goals as I go. I have 10 days to go until the end of my first 30 days. It seems like it has been MUCH longer than 20 days!!!! The hardest part of my first 30 days has been not getting on the scale. I realized in my first three pages of journaling that I beat myself up over scale fluctuations, I get discouraged, and I quit. Usually within the first two weeks. Avoiding the scale was necessary for me to keep from talking myself out of any success I might see in the first month.
Anyway, good luck to you. Hang in there!
