Rep Power: 172840 | | | "Woman" Question... My question is this...
I started eating right and exercising at the beginning of this month.
I (like clockwork) always start my "cycle" on this past Wednesday (the third week of my pills). It's always on that same Wednesday.
Well, it's Friday, and I still haven't started. I have no signs of it either. I know it's only 2 days late, but it's just weird, because I am never late.
Did diet and exercise effect any of your "cycles" too?
Thanks!!

I have a cousin who almost never has a cycle because she is overweight, but she wasn't on bc either. I also know girls who are considered underweight and don't have them regularly as well.
Again, I'm not sure how your weight loss could affect it when on bc, so maybe you should contact your doctor. Is it possible you could be pregnant?

Rep Power: 2139 | | | I dont think it should affect you in that way if you are on BC... especially if it normally keeps you working so regularly.

Rep Power: 10 | | | I had issues with mine in January, too. I had one the first week of January, then I had 2 weeks off, and then had another one! I'm too young for that crap!

Rep Power: 172840 | | | the research that i have been doing does state that changes in diet and exercise can affect the monthly cycle, but i am still unsure if that's what is messing me up. i guess only time will tell! i can take it either way... it's the not knowing that is killing me!

Rep Power: 5 | | Mine has been a little weird for around the last 6 months too, almost thought I was pregnant once when it ran a week late, me being single of course went into panic mode and hit the dr! He told me the same thing that if my diet and exercise, stress, had changed recently it "could" affect it, and honestly since then it hasn't been on schedule, I also take BC.
My best advice Call your Dr who knows you the best and good luck either way! |

Rep Power: 172840 | | thank you very much!
i had a very real dream that i was pregnant, so i took a test when i woke up this morning, but it still says negative. it's the fourth one so far.
if i am 7 days late, wouldn't a home test be detecting it if i was pregnant by now? i know there's no 100% answer... i was just curious about any of your experiences with it.
thanks!

Rep Power: 210302 | | | pregnancy tests are pretty accurate after a few days...
Have you had any symptoms that you're about to get youor period? ie swollen or tender breasts..
Stressing over it (and if you've taken 4 pregnancy tests, I'd guess you're stressing a little) can also cause it to be delayed.
A woman's cycle is an odd thing - anything can cause it to be irregular... exercise, change in diet, change in weight, change, stress...
Going to the doctor or planned parenthood for a blood test will answer your question once and for all...

Rep Power: 172840 | | thank you so much for replying!
there isn't a planned parenthood here, and the doctor said to wait until i got at least one positive home test. that struck me as weird, but i guess i'll wait.
i actually started having a really light cycle today, but i'm not sure if that's me spotting because of a pregnancy or just me starting my period. it's just so hard to tell! although the reading i have been doing makes it sound as though the spotting is usually brownish if you are pregnant, and this isn't brown.
sorry if it's too much information, but i know a lot of you are mommies, so you have been there/ done that!
thank you again for the advice / response!

Rep Power: 210302 | | I've never been pregnant but there are some signs that appear early on Medical Encyclopedia: First trimester pregnancy (Print Version) Symptoms
Missed menstrual period(s)
Fatigue
Breast enlargement or breast discomfort (tenderness)
Abdominal distention
Nausea with or without vomiting
Light-headedness or actual fainting
Skin areas appearing abnormally dark or light
Signs and tests
From what I understand - the area around the nipples darkens pretty early on.
If you have been taking your pills regularly, chances of conception are pretty slim (though not impossible) I would just try to relax and take yur mind off of it for a bit and see what happens...
