Hello everyone

I made some introductions on my diary page, but I'm relatively new to the site; just joined a few days ago and I'm very excited by how supportive everyone is of one another. I'm 22 years old and a college student. I came about this site looking for motivation to keep me going in my weight loss journey. What motivated me to actually take a step towards a new me was the fact that I had finally gotten sick and tired of being the chubby friend, or being referred to as the chubby one in the family. I just want to be happy, and healthy, and look good in the clothes I wear.

So about 2 weeks ago, I made a commitment to change. It was slow goings with me falling into a Ben & Jerry's trap and overloading a bit on high calorie stir fry served at my schools dining hall, but as of last week, I've been making a concerted effort to get my weight under control. This ride has got me really reevaluating the way I eat and having me come to the realization that starvation or feeling hungry doesn't always mean that your achieving your weight loss dream.

I've had some success with having lost an initial amount of 24lbs of fat from my original starting weight of 214. Right now, I'm assuming I weigh at the most 190lbs (I won't find out the official weight until tomorrow when I go to the gym for my first weigh in). My overall goal is to drop 45lbs and hit 145lbs, or what I believe would be an ideal weight for someone that's 5'10. Well that's my story thus far. I'm really hoping that as time progresses, I can share good news with you all, as well as share in your successes. With that, I'll say have a good day all.
