Rep Power: 32 | | | Sudden drop but no change? Well, I've been doing a vigorous workout this evening after eating quite a lot in my opinion (two servings of rice with vegetables for lunch, then a whole can of soup for dinner, plus a banana, an apple and a bowl of cereals and some nuts..)
And I weighed myself. I was at 132. My usual weight hovers at 135-136. It's impossible to drop just 3 pounds in a day, is it?
Could it be water loss? I have been drinking enough, and my muscle mass stayed the same, I know I haven't lost any.
I also haven't lost any fat. I know.. I can definitely see it still.
What could that be? Is the 3 pounds going to be back tomorrow, and what is it?

Rep Power: 7 | | | You can't lose three pounds in one day unless you were trying to kill yourself. It sounds like a normal weight fluctuation -- you may have actually lost some weight, but it could be water, it could be something you ate, it could be anything... Three pounds one way or another in the overall scheme of things is still minor so don't worry that you aren't seeing a difference.

Rice = Carbs
Vegetables = Carbs
Banana = Carbs
Apple = Carbs
Cereals = Mostly carbs
Seems like you're eating VERY little fat and close to no protein.
And how do you know you've lost 'no muscle' ?? Chances are that you're losing muscle and water from what you're saying.

Rep Power: 32 | | | Ooh dear.. hm. Well, I usually eat more protein than that. I'm a vegetarian though, so I get it from cheese, beans, soy based meat products.
I probably ate some more good fat/protein today but I really don't remember. Today I just ate mostly carbs because I had nothing else.
The soup had protein, and I ate lots of nuts which makes protein too.
As for muscle, I'm not sure I lost any. I only have some on my arms, and it's still here. Unless you're talking about lean muscle.. in that case, I don't know; I've done resistance training a lot today and the past days to preserve it. As I said, I usually eat more protein (usually peanut butter and beans, soy too) today was simply because that's all I had to eat.

Rep Power: 0 | | | First of all it sounds like you are scale obsessing a bit. I don't know if that is particularly good. However other than that tangent...
1. The scale. Scales are not always accurate. Did you change where you weighed in? Home scales can be especially picky, a change on the floor (if there is a dip) can flip a pound here or there. Or a kick can uncalibrate it. If it is a gym scale who knows what fat girl decided to do jumping jacks on it.
2. You had an especially good workout and your body hasn't had a chance to replace it's glycogen stores. Glycogen, your main source of initial energy in a workout, binds to water and thus is a significant part of your water weight at any given time. If you deplete those stores you can lose 4-5 pounds easily.
Just sounds like your body was being really efficient in its burning of your glycogen today. There are many hormonal possibilities for this. Don't sweat it.

Chances are that you're losing muscle and water from what you're saying. | I don't know what veggies, she was eating - but not all veggies count as carbs, they just count as "free" foods - now if she was eating starchy veggies - that would be a carb (i.e. potatoes, peas, etc.)

Even broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes and things like that are dominating in carbs in comparison to protein and fats. So to me, those are carbs, and since I noticed an absense of fats and protein in the list he provided, then I'd say it's pretty safe to say he had been eating nothing but carbs...Wouldn't you say?

Rep Power: 32 | | | SweatPea: I am male, hehee. Just.. not physically - not completely. But I use male pronouns.
And yes, it's true I've been eating mostly carbs that day. But I got my fat and protein from cheese and soy milk. I usually eat red beans and other more filling foods.
I also ate some carrots, and I had some nuts too.
Argh.. went back to 135. It's deceiving. If I wasn't so hungry all the time, too.

What's your goal? I would love to be 135!
Good luck!

Rep Power: 32 | | | That's alright!
Well, my goal is 125, which would be my ideal weight for my height/gender. It's only 10 pounds, but it's incredibly difficult to take those off.
I managed to lose 10 pounds in the past when I was at 145, by changing my diet, but now my body got used to it and I no longer lose fat by eating well. I simply maintain my weight. I can't seem to lose any weight because I'm always hungry, but since I'm 17, it's supposedly normal.. though I'm afraid to gain weight again, which makes it difficult. I can't really exercise outside of home either.

That's always a good start.

Rep Power: 32 | | | I simply dance and run/ more like jog on one spot since I can't run around in the house. I can't afford weights right now, I only have one that is 5 lb but it's too small now.
Also, a calorie counter disappointed me when I saw that 10 minutes of running only burned about 80 calories...
