| | | Hello Jessica.
I was just thinking that you should add some whey protein shakes to your diet. The others are right, you need more protein. Stick at it, I understand how frustrating it can be but, if you keep going it will also be worth it in the end.
Oh yeah.......and weights......add weights back, the others are right about that too.
G'luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey Everyone!!! wow! so many replies.
First I want to say that, I DO want to change it.. I've just been told my whole entire life that adding weights, and more protien in your diet bulks you up( I don't believe this..but its hard when you hear it your whole life)
So if anyone would be so kind to actually write up a fitness/eating plan a sample one for a day.. I would be SOOO thankful
Second, thanks for the advice on doing more workouts.. but if I burned more calories wouldn't that just mean I would have to eat more??
I appreciate all of your responces.. its all a process, and I like all of the different opinions.
Questions are:
Excersizes to lift your butt?
Arm workouts
Ab workouts
a good cardio routine ( right now im just jogging on 15 incline at 4.7 for 30 minutes)
thanks everyone.. I've been eating a bit of meat.. and nuts. I'm trying to get my protien up. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | No. hehhhe. People on here read too much into things. I actually have a amazing husband who didn't marry me for my looks, but that's just a 'bonus'..
I was just saying.. I felt bad that flat stomach is such a turn on when it's the hardest thing to accomplish.. owell.
I made up that Poll because I wanted to see how shallow and gross people were.. and it turns out to be good results. If men had voted on big boobs..eww than we would have sometihng to talk about.
it's all in good fun. |

Rep Power: 8 | | my appologies...i think what i said came out wrong...i wasn't directing my comments specifically towards yourself
However in terms of that survey, i think there isn't much difference in all the choices given...you only gave the option to give shallow responses If you had included other things i think we might have gotten a better idea of how shallow people are.
But yes, a flat stomach is something that most women strugle with. I see many people at the gym who are otherwise quite thin but are a bit pudgy around the middle. Personally i don't find the "too thin" look atractive on men or women. i don't like when you can see or feel bones through the skin. I don't want to feel like i could break someone when i hug them LOL |

Rep Power: 0 | | The only thing I can think of is that you are miscalculating your calories? Either calories consumed or your maintenance calories is off the mark? You've only been doing this for a month and a half so I don't think it's a plateau. I've lost 20 pounds in the last 3 months (waist went from 31" to 26") based on "calories in vs calories out". I found my maintenance calories and aimed for a specific calorie deficit a day to reach my 1.5 pound a week goal, through diet and weight training. And I find it works very well and is very accurate as that's exactly what I've lost. I weigh my food on a digital scale so there are no screw ups in the calorie count and I make sure I even add something as small as the milk in my coffee as every calorie counts when you add them all up after a week. Unless there is an underlying medical condition, I think our bodies all work in general the same way - the whole thing about one pound of fat equals an estimated 3,500 calories is quite right I think as that's exactly how my body has worked.
I can totally understand your frustration, 5 pounds in a month and a half, after working out 5-6 days a week. And I don't think it's because you are gaining muscle as you are in a calorie deficit. I have been lifting as heavy as I can for every body part 3 times a week (and that's all the exercise I do) and I wouldn't say I've gained muscle as I was in a calorie deficit. You need to have a calorie surplus to gain muscle. The heavier I lift, the smaller I become.
You lost 5 pounds in 6 weeks (a month and a half), that means you lost on average 0.83 pounds a week, which means you had a daily calorie deficit of about 417 calories a day. To lose 2 pounds a week like you want, you need a daily calorie deficit of 1,000 calories a day. I think the first thing I would do if I were you is to check to make the calorie calculations are accurate.
Good luck and hope it works out for you. |

Rep Power: 14 | | 5-6 meals is incredibly easy, even with a busy schedule! every time you eat something, whether it be carrots or a snack from the fridge, its a meal. If you plan your week ahead with what your going to eat and prepare them, it really helps, especially if your busy. I eat 6 meals a day and im a full time college student and i work part time. I didn't think i could do it but it turned out i was already eating close to that amount, i just didn't realize it. It helps with metabolism and i have already lost some weight from it. i agree with Steve on the calories, and remember don't get frustrated with your weight, its a number on the scale. As long as you wake up feeling good and have plenty of energy, you know your improving! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | oooh! Thanks, I didn't realize eating small things like carrot sticks or a apple with peanut butter on it was a meal.
I guess that's right. I thought a meal was like something that took time, you know.
I work in a VERY fast pace enviroment at a Chiropractic Clinic so I don't get much time..but I could like snack on soem veggis on my walk to work or something. Cool.
Yah, Steve is a big help. I've taken everything, well mostly everything he's said and incorporated it into my daily schedule/eating plan.
I guess everything takes time. Lots of it. But I have it. |

Rep Power: 8 | | hi i am a vegan and i get enough protein so why cant you as a veggie? look about on the internet about veggie nutrition, all the proteins i eat as a vegan are guilt free and dont include nasty animal fats. ive lost 20kgs in 5 months cos of being vegan (after 13 years of begin veggie and wanting to take it further) and plus ive been excercising. ive got the point your at now, where my weight is not budging.
i only want too loose another 6-7kgs and this is mostly stomach and muffin top fat. theres no way around it, you took your time eating the food that put the weight on so it will take time comming off but its worth it!
i dont count calorys, or measure/weigh my food. i dont follow directions on food for serviing sizes, i just eat when im hungry, none of this calory counting stuff (im maths dyslexic so its a big issue to count all the time) its easier to do this cos im vegan, and i dont eat anything fatty or nasty or processed, you jus gotta fuel your body and not your eyes! eat till your comfortably full. when you get hungry again, eat a little bit more. dont starve yourself, 1100 calorys is a tiny amount! and if you wanna get lean and have nice muscles then you need to feed them
oh and in the poll i voted tummy, but you should have given better options, i dont look at people when im looking for love, i listen to them and get to know them, ive been out with some lovely looking guys but in my experiecce peopel that no they are good looking arent my type as they think they rule. i go for the mind, oh and guys with dreadlocks but thats not a secret
good luck with ya weight loss ! x |
