Rep Power: 15 | | I really wasn't trying to say it as a stupid question... only that the ladies at church were being stupid about this same subject, except worse. Just don't start obsessing about it like they did, unless it continues, that's all I'm saying. A single measurement that is 1 pound lower than expected when you've got a whole weeks worth of variations coming into play isn't anything to be concerned about at this point unless you keep it up.
This is why I like weighing daily then averaging the results if you wanted to get scientific about it, not to freak out on a day to day basis, but to see trends, so you can see it bobble up and down vs. plunging straight down in a straight line. Hell, you could even plot it on an Excel line graph and watch your variations, that would be kinda cool. Most people don't like the idea of weighing daily so they don't freak out on small variations... but if you're already doing that, what's it going to hurt?
Anyway, good luck to you, and by the way, I'm not "mr. meanie"... I just freely speak my mind and talk out loud and women trying to lose weight sometimes take it the wrong way. Go figure. If we were face to face I would have asked that first question with a smile on my face, and be laughing about taking a 4 pound dump, and you wouldn't have thought a thing about what I said.
I just really think you really did lose maybe 1.5 pounds or so, but you also had 1 pound worth of fluctuations due to water/waste weight. Pretty simple explanation... unless you keep it up. If it had happened more than one time and was consistent, obviously that's a different story.

Rep Power: 8 | | It's cool dude. Reading someone's words is definitely different from listening to them. And I totally understand what you're saying about the daily weighings. I'm just really trying not to get into all that. I don't have a specific number of pounds I'd like to lose, so I'm mostly just trying to use the weight as an indicator of positive or negative progress. I wish I didn't have any desire to weigh myself at all and could just assess my progress based on the way I look and how my clothes fit, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Anyway thanks for the luck. I'm just trying to get in excellent shape because I am actually going somewhere for spring break this year. Also I'm going to be graduating in June with a degree in Health and Wellness and a minor in Exercise Science. I want to look like I know what I'm talking about!
I'm sure I'll be seeing ya around here again |

It was not totally clear from your post, so I will ask...are you trying to lose weight? Or, have you lost 29 pounds out of the blue without even trying? If that is the case, you really should see your doctor...that's not normal.
If you have been cutting calories and exercising...give us details. About how many calories are you eating a day, and how much exercising are you doing? These details can better help us help you. |

Rep Power: 0 | | No I wasn't trying to lose weight at all. It just happened and I can't understand it. I still eat the same, but I keep losing more and more weight. I'm going to get it checked tomorrow. I just hope it's not what all my aunts and uncles died from when they were my age (33), (Leukemia)! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Ssaadd!! Just found out today that I indeed have Leukemia in my entire body. The reason why it didn't show up before was because it doesn't usually show any symptems until it's in it's final state. I didn't want to ask how long I have to live because I really don't care. I just want to have fun playing with my nephews and pretend that there is nothing wrong with me. I want to die happy! And being with my nephews makes me the happiest person in the world! And I get to say good-bye to them and talk with them all about Heaven so that it won't hurt that much when I die. Thank you for thinking about me! |

Rep Power: 8 | | | I am so sorry for this horrible news! Are the doctors planning any type of treatment, or is the leukemia too far advanced? Is a bone marrow transplant a possibility? I will keeping you in my thoughts and prayers...please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I don't know what to say to make it better.
Thinking of you,
