trying to loose 20-30lbs

im 240lb and im burning 1000 calories per day and intaking about 600 im eating hungryman dinners the boneless fried chicken one

im drinking the dietary water from stacker 2..

im really trying to get a low bf % so i can build muscle i bought a bowflex from a buddy yrs ago but found out it was useless till i lost the weight
are the meal replacement shakes healthy, i don't want to make my self sick or anything, how about if i burn 600 calories in the morning to make up for my dinner then burn about 2000 calories in the evening then do 30 mins on bowflex

with the calculators i figured burning 3000 calories a day i would loose 40 lbs in a month and 20 days.i just dont know how long i should be running or walking or if i can burn tho's calories throughout the day.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even though it's mathematically possible to lose 40 pounds in 50 days by working out like crazy and limiting your food to one sodium-laden frozen dinner a day, you aren't going to like whatever results you get from it.

The Bowflex is no more useless before you lose the weight than after. I have no particular opinion on its uselessness in general, but if it works then, it'll work now.

Aim for 2 to 2.5 pounds a week. Eat enough protein. And calories. Do your resistance work, not just cardio. You will get where you're going in the end.

You are only eating 600 calories a day? You will not lose anything because your body will go into starvation mode in fear that it will not have any reserves left if you start getting any fewer calories.

Read the stickies in the Nutirition and On Topic forums. A well-balanced diet and exercise will help, but as Allyphoe said, you cannot lose weight that fast. Slow and steady with proper lifestyle change will get you there.

Gotta call bs on starvation mode. There will be weeks when I eat under 1000 calories a day. I still lose weight.

Whatever, just because there is less crap in your digestive tract doesn't mean you lost fat weight.

Hey,

I do not know about starvation mode or what have you, but I do know the way you are eating is not healthy. There is no way you can keep eating that way up, even if you do manage to lose your desired weight. You will get sick eventually. You do need to eat more calories than what you are eating. 1000 Calories a day is not enough for anyone. If you want to keep the calorie intake low, eat more veggies/grains and fruit. If you are going to eat meat, eat meat that you have to cook yourself. Broil or bake it. Meal replacements are not the wisest thing unless you are eating 6 small meals a day.

You said you don't want to make yourself sick, eating the way you described you no doubt will.

That *is* why those "cleansing" products are so effective for weight loss.

Seriously, though, folks. If eating 600 calories a day prevented weight loss, there wouldn't be people starving to death. And the easiest way in the world to maintain would be to eat little enough that your body would learn to sustain itself on a handful of popcorn and a multivitamin. There are lots of reasons why living on one frozen dinner a day is bad for you, but "you won't lose any weight" isn't one of them.

well i ate that stuff for over 10 years im not sure how much fat comes from sugers and carbs is that included in the overall calorie count at the top of the lables? im really confused about this so if i intake 1,500 calories will that add on to my weight right a way or overtime because when i eat i don't put on pounds right a way more overtime than anything i been 240 for 4 yrs i know 3,500 calories equals one lb but it seems if i intake about 1500 calories i really wont be loosing weight just maintaining my current weight. oh and these frozen dinners are very feeling.

i been eating this stuff for years.. especially the prepared dinners

i bought a calorie consumption monitor from amazon today

ok let me introduce you to something called BMR

Think about your body, it uses energy pump blood, move muscles, think, everything. So you use about 2500-3000 at least a day just to stay alive. So to loose weight by 1lb a week you only need to eat 500 calories less a day.
this means no exercise and eating 2000 calories a day .. exercise just increases it!

I made the same mistake when i started wondering how the heck i was supposed to stick too it

600 calories a day while working out? Well, I'm not sure if its possible to function normally on such a ludicrous deficit. But you know what, let's make it interesting. If you do stick to this plan, I'll put 100$ that you'll gain most of it back within a couple of months of getting off it. Listen to that poster above who calls starvation mode BS! I really want that money.

Ever heard the term "skinny fat person"?

That's what you're likely going to end up being on this regime.

If you want to know the proper way to lose "weight" and what works, look up the findings of the National Weight Control Registry.

They have close to 6000 subjects in their data base who have, on average, lost 73 pounds and kept it off for an average of five years or more.

So they must be doing something right.

There were few commonly shared features of how these people lost weight - the only common characteristic was that 89% of registry participants used both diet and physical activity to lose weight: only 10% used diet alone, and 1% used exercise alone.

To summarize some other findings, participants shared four types of common behavior : 1) eating a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet; 2) eating breakfast almost every day; 3) frequent self-monitoring of weight; and 4) participation in a high level of physical activity.

Registry participants almost certainly underreported their total energy intake. This phenomenon is not uncommon among people calculating their daily caloric intake. Registry participants reported consuming 1300 to 1500 calories per day, of which 23% to 24% came from fat.

Do some research and see what else these folks did. You'll likely get some good ideas.

well so if i increase my calorie intake my bodys automatically set to burn that off during the day.. what i been doing during the 600 calore intake was burning that off during a morning walk well i did the walk before i ate.. then myworkout i was burning 1000 with weight lifting and running..i was reading somewhere that during sleep you burn calories you intake and even if your bed ridden your bodys set to burn daily calories off..600 calore intake is not a diet to say the lease i think i have bad eating habbits.
