Rep Power: 6 | | | hey im new and need your help-will this diet work? well im a BIG binge eater, 16 and 152cm tall. I weigh 59kg-60kg. I may not look fat, but i feel big and miss wearing great clothes, feeling great. I am so self conscious of my image. All my mates, family think i have a perfect body and don't need to lose weight. But i want to be "thin" and healthy again. I did soccer for 2 years and was in great shape. But after quiting i lost all muscle and started to binge. I want to get down to 48kg. which is apparently a good weight for my height. I ride my horse so i get out and work outside. I need help and support cause out of all friends family they aren't supportive cause they don't think i need to lose weight, they don't understand. But i want to get back into my bikini and get healthy and look great.
ive started counting calories and going to start tomorrow. This is my diet so far. Will it work? Any tips? Thankyou heaps.

Rep Power: 0 | | | that's a seriously low calorie intake there :-( ...you might get slim for that bikini but your weight will suffer long term if you keep eating like that.
why not increase your calorie intake a bit? I'm pretty sure you'll trim up with all that exercise anyway!

well thats a bit it please let me know | No it won't work, your setting yourself up for a binge and HONESTLY, you wont be able to do those workouts on THAT amount of calories.
I got down to my goal weight and STAYED there (62kg - 54kg) by following a healthy eating plan. Mine went somewhere like this... (I lost between 0.5-1kg per week). Breakfast: 1/3 Cup Rolled Oats + Tbsp Brown Sugar
- Put the oats and 1 cup of water into a saucepan and slowly bring to boil, reduce heat and let simmer. Soaking the oats the night before with water makes them more tasty. If you dont want brown sugar you can add cinnamon, banana, apple, raspberries, dried fruit.
This is a low cal HIGH FIBRE breakfast. And it will get you all the way through to morning tea or lunch.
If your not a fan of porridge muesli is great, as is chopped up fruit with yoghurt, or an egg white omelete. Lunch: 2 Slices Wholemeal Bread w/ 2 Slices Turkey, Slice of low fat cheese, cranberry sauce, 1 egg curried, lettuce.
Other things you could have for lunch? Minestrone Soup, Chicken Salad, Sushi Rolls, Salad Wraps, Roast Vegetables with Chilli Sauce, Fish and Vegies? Leftovers from the night before. Dinner: If you live at home just make sure you have a sensible portion of whatever your parents cook, make sure it includes vegies and some protein. Maybe roast chicken with peas, corn, potato mash, broccolli and carrot? Snacks: Dont do that low fat yoghurt crap, studies have shown that you tend you eat more after eating the lower calorie/fat alternatives. If you eat a normal yoghurt you will feel fuller and it will taste better and you probably wont turn to something else.
Snacking on fruit is great. Apples and bananas are 300-400 kj each and are a great snack. Raspberries or strawberries are great as a snack and you could also pour some low fat cream on them with a touch of icing sugar. Or even with some natural yoghurt.
Incorporating some protein in your day is essential. A great snack is taking a tin of flavoured tuna (sweet chilli is good) and spreading some low fat cream cheese on some cruskits, and putting the tuna on top. Its low cal and high in protein.
At your height and weight you should probably be aiming for around 1400-1500 calories per day, maybe a little more if you are exercising a lot. |

Austin_88 what excersises did you do? | Well. My resistance training plan looks like this
Day 1 - Back, Chest, Abs
5 x 10 Reps of Close Grip Lat Pull Downs
5 x 10 Reps Chest Press with 4,5,6,7kg Dumbells
3 x 10 Wide Grip Pull Ups (kinda like chin ups but your arms set wide on the bar, I do this assisted, so I am only lifting half my weight)
4 x 25 Inclined Sit Ups
Day 2 - Day off
Day 3 - Legs, Arms, Abs
5 x 10 Leg Press
5 x 10 Leg Extension
3 x 10 Dips (you can do these assisted too if they are too hard)
5 x 10 Chin Ups (again, they are assisted)
5 x 10 Shoulder Press with Dumbells 3,4,5kg Dumbells
4 x 25 Inclined Sit Ups
Day 4 - Off
Day 5 - Full Body Workout (not as much though)
3 x 10 Chest Press
3 x 10 Leg Press
3 x 10 Dips
3 x 10 Wide Gripped Pull Ups
3 x 10 Close Grip Lat Pull Downs
3 x 25 Incline Sit Ups
You could also add shoulders and arms in there, but I just dont like training those much.
I also stretch really well between exercises, and warm up for about 5 minutes before hand. Cardio
I do it kinda sporadically, whenever I can fit it in.
Sometimes I go for morning walks at around 7am for 4km.
Or I go to the gym and do 45 minutes of intense cardio.
Or just go for long walks or runs on the weekends.
I try to do a bit everyday or at least 5 days a week.
Try to make it routine. Eg. Walk to school or work, go for a hike on the weekends. Make it part of your day and then you cant miss it. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Ya, I think too that your calorie count will be too low. Here are some things that come to my mind.
1. you don't have any sugar in your diet. That you said you binge eat lets me assume that you are eating sugar now, since sugar is usually the cause for binge eating. Keep in mind that people can have a withdrawal from sugar when they stop eating it all of a sudden. This means that you might feel a headache or some moodiness once you stop eating sugar.
2. You don't eat enough calories. Not eating enough calories can give you a headache as well. So, don't be so strict on how much you eat, but be careful with what you eat.
3. you are including fresh fruits and vegetables. I would say have one piece of fruit a day, but have a couple of servings of vegetables. You can add them to the brown rice and it will make the rice much more tasty.
4. You are including brown rice in your diet. Great job girl. Brown rice is really good for you. You should eat more of it. If you like, have it for lunch and for dinner with some vegetables and a little oil. If you have enough of brown rice, try bulgur or other whole grains.
Cutting out sugar is really one of the best choices you can make. If you want to know more about what sugar does to you there is a book, "Sugar Blues" by William Dufty. It is not the newest book on the market but it has lots of great information. |

Rep Power: 6 | | thankyou AlexaCooper and austin_88 and everyone else. That has helped me alot!
Just another question. Sorry so new to this, hehe. I have heard heaps of people say to lose weight eat LESS, eat HEALTHY, and EXCERSISE. I go to school (My last year) and i need food to get me going and have energy cause i have tried countless times to skip "recess" (eat less) but i get dizzy, lose focus and dont concentrate in class and all my mates are hypo but me all tired. So i have to eat. But will i still lose weight? Eating healthy of course. My food for tommoro is
Breakfast: Toasted tomato Wholemeal sandwich
Recess: DIET Pineapple Yogurt
Lunch: Wholemeal lettuce and tomato sandwich
Afternoon snack: Apple
Dinner: something healthy i will cook up tommoro or mum.
as well if i get time to cardio or gym excersise
thanks |

Rep Power: 0 | | That sounds really low what you are eating. How is your weight loss going with that? How long have you been able to stick to it yet? Ever thought about cheat days or cheat meal during the weekends? Some people work really well with that.
