But of course... I'm a guy!!!

In reality, the more no nonsense, logical information that's passed around here the happier I am.

You men and your egos

I agree on the information, I can only hope to be as well versed as you and Keith are one day, in the meantime, maybe having to dumb down some information for a novice like me isn't necessarily a bad thing.

It is much appreciated, believe me.

Everyone should fallow the best plan to, be able to have a good nutrition and a healthy look. what do "you" calls...change the "diet" or change the "lifestyle" -, Well the second are more generalist for the way you live, the first are specific to the way "you" eat. I don't have problem with the word "diet", because this define my nutrition, good or bad. What really important is: What consist this change of diet and (of course) lifestyle? How to do this change...? This is the most important to me...

[To me the word "diet", is just to refer "nutrition behaviour" . If I have a healthy diet or a unhealthy diet. Lifestyle is more extensive; that includes, diet...and many order aspects.]

At this step of my diet...I eat good source of protein, carbs and fat... But I have a question: - Which ratios are most optimal for healthy and weight loss?

The USDA guidelines recommend that approximately 60% of the calories should come from carbs, and approximately 30% from fat...and 20% from protein.

But this "ratios" are a point of disagreement among nutritionists... What to you think about this?

I think you've misunderstood what I said. However, I am ok with having to reiterate it. "Diet" in general terms means someone is going to start a fad routine that eventually gets them no where (i.e. "Starting January first I am going on a DIET"). I was saying, and again generalizing for Mal's amusement, that a lifestyle change is more important (this is an idea she has thrown around the forums for a VERY long time, and I was letting her know that it hasn't gone on deaf ears).

As for your question, percentages aren't very helpful in terms of weight loss, but getting in minimum macros are:

~.8 x weight for min grams of protein
~.25 x weight for max fat

From there, carbs usually fall into place, you just need to make sure you are getting them from the best sources. Now, I know you can get them from anywhere, but getting them from more nutritional sources have better advantages (i.e. more minerals, vitamins, fiber, etc.). That USDA guide does not sound right at all to me. But, YMMV.

Ratios/percentages are pointless.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, however, I am nowhere on the same level of knowledge as Steve. Most of my information is regurgitated Steve posts... or something from one of my 100's of PDF articles I have saved on my desktop here. I am in no way an expert and would like to express my views just as practices that have worked for n = 1.

I agree. The amount of information I learn on a daily basis from good information does make me "jubilant".
