other post at: http://www.weight-loss.fitness.com/a...-any-help.html)
i know that everyone is built differently and carry weight at different areas of the body.
i am at 116lbs yet have a 28-inch waistline.
i just want to know about OTHER people:
what are you waistlines and how much do you weigh?
i know it's not a matter of weight that determines the waistline as weight constitutes fat and muscle weight.
BUT FOR GENERALITIES SAKE-- please help. thanks. |

From books I've read - the waist measurement is important to your hip measurement - youcan google waist to hip ratio calculator to see if it puts you at increased risk for coronary artery disease
with 38.5 inch hips that gives me a .84 which puts me at amoderate risk... |

Rep Power: 20 | | I'm with Mal that waist-to-hip ratio is the more-important thing.
I'm 5'4", about 127 pounds, and have a 28" waist. (And a w/h ratio of .76, because I carry all my weight in my hips and thighs.) |

Rep Power: 13 | | | I weigh 60 kg and my waistline is 32 inches. I thought that was fairly good, but now I am not so sure anymore! I am 1.65m tall (5'6).

Rep Power: 20 | | My skinniest part isn't right below my ribs.
I measure like for clothing, so where the waistline of my pants go. On me, that's about navel level. With a finger between my body and the tape. |

Measuring there, my waistline is 31 inches. If I measure where the waistline of my pants goes, it's much closer to 37....and my hips are only 38.5.
I like the 31 inch measurement much better and it puts my ratio at .81.
To the OP....what is your hip measurement? |

Rep Power: 85 | | | The problem with measuring your waist at the point where your belly button is - people who have been very big like me have belly buttons that are nearer the hip level than anything else. That measurement is dramatically bigger than the narrowest point that I have always referred to as my waist which is where the waistline of my skirts and trousers go. |

Rep Power: 8 | | | Well measuring just above my belly-button my waist is about 26 inches, and I'm 114 lbs.
I still think of my stomach as a major problem area though. It's the lower part that bothers me. I just wish it were flatter! |
