Question question... getting frustrated

I am pretty new here. Haven't posted before, but here is my situation. I started weight watchers in January of this year. I have lost about 35 lbs so far, bringing me to my current 195 lbs. I am 5 ft 2 in so I have a lot to lose. I seem to have stalled at my weight loss. I am still doing well with my eating. I eat TONS of veggies and chicken or fish, I eat whole wheat pasta and bread, brown rice, etc. I do snack on things like pretzels, string cheese, fruit, yogurt, 100 calorie packs (not the best, I know and have stopped buying them), etc., so I think my eating has been decent. I do have the occassional meal (usually once a week) where I eat a meal that is not as healthy, but WW has built that in with the extra flex points to use whenever.

Since I have hit my plateau I have really upped my exercise. I do kickboxing classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. I have been working with a trainer once a week on strength training and some cardio. On other days I do the treadmill, elliptical, rowing machine, or stairmaster along with some weights. I am still NOT losing! This week at weigh in I was exactly the same as the week before. The two previous weeks I showed a gain. I am really hoping for a loss this week. I know the scale is not everything, but I have been very discouraged. Could it be that I am building muscle? Is there anything else I can do to up my weight loss?? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks!

I know you are doing Weight Watchers, and I know they are based on a points system... but are you actually counting the calories as well? I suspect you may be taking in more calories than you think you are.

You will hear a lot of people talk about FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal... it is a really good resource, especially for counting your calories, even calculating your BMR (basal metabolic rate... basically the amount of calories your body would burn in a day even if you didn't do any physical activity). Watching what you eat is great, but to lose you need to create a caloric deficit too so your body burns the fat.

And yes, you could be building muscle too. Are your clothes fitting any looser?

You might also find that you are not getting enough calories. I was doing WW for the longest time and got down to the lowest amount of points allowed and just felt like I wasn't getting enough... well come to find out I wasn't!! Check out fitday and see how many calories your points are getting you and then adjust from there... its an easy tool to use... just as easy as counting points!

Oh yeah... I totally forgot about that side of the coin. I've had weeks where I didn't take enough in and didn't lose much weight too.
