As someone that's lived out of a blender most of his life, I've been looking with interest at some of the companies now selling liquid egg whites. There seems to be two large ones.

There's Eggology that claims to be the first to offer the product to athletes.

And there's another one that looks good. Egg Whites International has a real nice layout and a slick looking forum to ask questions, share recipes, etc.

Running the numbers, purchasing just the egg whites seems a bargain. The EWI product claims about 14 dozen egg whites per Gallon. That's 168 eggs or 14 dozen and costs $28.

What's a dozen eggs going for nowadays? At $3 a dozen that would be $72 for the same amount. Seems like a deal just to buy the white.

The beauty of this product is that they are liquid "NOT RAW" egg whites and are 100% Bio-Available. They claim the whites are heat pasteurized and salmonella tested. The pasteurization process heats the egg white to 134 degrees for 3½ minutes. This heat kills the salmonella and neutralizes the Avidin to allow the egg whites to be digested safely by the human body. Anybody that's tried drinking raw egg whites is well aware that the human body cannot completely and safely digest a raw egg white.

Just wondering if anyone here has used this product and what you thought about them?

a dozen large eggs, as long as you aren't going for the free range, grass fed,omega 3 added, cholesterol reducing, you'll win the lottery at some point on your life- in the city of chicago a dozen eggs are 2.00 less if they're on sale...

I've tried using the KKK eggs sold in the dairy case (ya know, whites only) in baking and cooking, and they leave a rather gross film on the pan that real eggs (and these are supposed to be real eggs) don't leave. Baking you end up with a different texture of the finished product and they just don't meringue at all...

I personally use the Eggology egg whites. They do extensive testing on their egg whites and I appreciate that they are organic.

I haven't had the same experience as maleficent in regards to baking or cooking-they come out perfect. I was staying at the Biltmore in Montecito last fall and ordered an egg white omelet-they used Eggology for it and it was delicious. I figure if it's the product of choice for a 5 star hotel, then it's what I want to use in my own home. Also, they have these individual servings of egg whites that you can shake and then cook in the microwave. They are ready in under 2 minutes and the only thing I have to do is clean the fork when I'm done.

One of my diet hang ups is not having time to make healthy food, so I reach for whatever is there (typically NOT something healthy), but with eggology, I have a quick, easy, healthy low cal meal in minutes!
