Calculating my maintenance calories

Hi everyone,

I appologise if there is a thread for this already (which i'm sure there is, I just couldn't find it!).

I have been trying to calculate what my maintenance calories for each day are. I have used numerous online calculators, all of which have given me a different result varying from the extreme low 1700's to the much higher 2500's.

I would like to get this right so that I am in the best positition to start calculating my goals and calorie intake for each day.

I was hoping that someone with a bit more know how could help me out. Is there an equasion that I can use to calculate this? How is it possible that all of these online calculators give me such varied results?!

Well...my stats...

I am 24, female
I am pretty sedentry (desk job)
I currently weight 216lbs
I am 5'2
I would say I have a medium sized frame (as in bones...if that's important)
And muscle percentage is pretty minimal at this point!

I would really appreciate some help with this one!

pick a number and see how your body responds...

there is absolutely no one size fits all number - it's trial and error sometimes...

You found a range... stay in that range and see what happens
