Rep Power: 1 | | | Does green tea help? I was wondering if anyone is taking green tea. either pill or liquid. does it help at all? I dont want to necessarily go the weight loss pill route. I dont think you can discuss that here anyway since that is borderline medical advice. But green tea is natural so I think it may be ok.
so anyway does it actually help or is it just basically caffeen. ( ) |

Rep Power: 72 | | Natural doesn't mean healthy. Belladonna flowers are natural and they'll kill you. Poisonous toadstools are natural and they'll kill you too. People need to get away from this mindset that "natural" = "good for you".
Now that I've gotten that mini-rant out of the way ( ) ...
No food will "help you" in the sense that it will trigger your metabolism to lose more weight. There are benefits to drinking green tea that are still being studied and all of them are a great reason to drink it. Or drink it because you like it. But don't drink it because you think it will "help" in any sense of boosting fat loss. Cause it doesn't. |

Rep Power: 0 | | The biggest benefit from drinking green tea as far as weight loss goes would probably be if it was replacing a cup of your previous sugar drink of choice, or cup of coffee with sugar and cream. Yeah, it's supposed to be good for you anyway, but if you don't like the stuff and have to dump some calories in it to make it drinkable to you, probably not |

Rep Power: 0 | | It really works for weight loss. Just recently the past month or so, i got lazy and started eating lots of food, but I never gained weight because everyday I would drink 1 - 2 cups of green tea.
imagine how much you would lose WITH working out/dieting AND green tea! i'm about to try it |

On a serious note, I keep hearing that it aids in stomping on cravings - even my mom swears to it, but i haven't tried it. That and the whatchamacallits, that scrub free radicals, would be the only "benefits" to it over anything else maybe. Hang on. Dur, antioxidants. But that's overall health there, not weight loss.

Rep Power: 0 | | I have been drinking bigelow green tea with healthy antioxidants for 2 weeks. Though i dont think it will help you lose weight you would notice i do believe it is a healthy alternative to soft drinks and high sugar jucies. Its relaxing and antioxidants are good for your body. I drink a cup in the morning and after workout and a shower to relax. Its great!

What the hell? If you don't believe me, go look at actual documented cases where it is shown that green tea helps with metabolism, ffs.
Or if i'm wrong, you can prove it to me with your own source.
I know what i've told you so far is only anecdotal evidence, but if you don't want to try it, it's your loss. |

| Why don't you provide me with links? Because all the research shows that while green tea is a very healthy drink choice and has been shown to have significant benefits in reducing some cancers, there is no documented study that says you can eat anything you want and not gain weight or lose weight because of the effects of green tea. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | green tea works Here is the link to a study from the American Journal of Nutrition discussing the possible health benefits on green tea. http://www.vimulti.com/PDF/Weight%20...reen%20Tea.pdf
There is a ton of information on green tea for weight loss as well as the antioxidant properties of green tea. Do a Google search under Google scholar and read up on the clinical data that is published in peer reviewed medical journals.I take Green tea in combination with vitamin C and L arginine. You can drink green tea or vitamin C but can be costly. Like all things natural, use green tea in moderation. Keep doses at around 50-100mcg per day. Look into combination products that have all the essentials in one capsule. This not only improves compliance and ease but also helps with cost. I take Vimulti am formula daily. They have a great website that has all clinical information you need as well as free diet and exercise plans that are adapted form the university of Miami. Good luck. |

I know what i've told you so far is only anecdotal evidence, but if you don't want to try it, it's your loss. | So you're suggesting green tea overrides the basic laws of physics pertaining to energy.
If that's the case, I'm surprised researchers haven't realized they just found the resolution to our world's energy crisis.
How could they be so dumb? |

Rep Power: 72 | | From the paper you provided (bolding and red, mine): Quote:
The effects of long-term feeding with tea catechins have been widely studied, and some
investigators suggest a potential role of green tea in body weight control.
| Quote:
Such a synergistic interaction between polyphenols and caffeine to increase and prolong sympathetic stimulation of thermogenesis could be of value in assisting the management of obesity. Kovacs et al. [118] reported that weight maintenance after 7.5% of body weight loss in overweight and moderately obese subjects was not affected by green tea treatment and that regular caffeine consumption affected weight maintenance in green tea treatment. According to some authors, green tea extracts (with a 25% of catechins content) may be advisable for overweight treatment in patients whose body mass index ranges between 25 and 29.9 kg/m2, only if they do not present special sensitiveness to xantic bases [118]. Wu et al. [119] indicated that an inverse relationship may exit among regular green tea consumption, body fat percentage, and body fat distribution, especially for subjects who have maintained the habit of tea
consumption for more than 10 years.
| There's a lot of "may be" and "could be" and "potential role". It also clearly says there that an inverse relationship may exist for those who have been regular tea consumers all along.
That's hardly the rousing Green Tea Will Cause You To Lose Weight mantra that you're spouting here. Green tea has been shown to have some POTENTIAL in helping to manage weight loss. It doesn't mean you can drink or consume tons of green tea and then eat whatever you want and lose weight. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I agree green tea really help because Green tea is a potent source of healing antioxidants--the same beneficial compounds found in fruits and vegetables, and even in red wine. The leaf also boasts the presence of a superstar antioxidant called EGCG (epigallocatechin-gallate). visit us: [Spam]
