Hi Jung Mi,
I want to tell you that you're doing great, it's especially great to see your face brighten up like that. You really do look like a completely new person.
By any chance, are you Korean? I'm Korean myself and the pressure that is put on to me by other Koreans and my parents to stay slim is really suffocating sometimes. Asians are expected to be small and petite but I'm quite big-boned so I will never fit that image.
Anyways. keep up the good work

Well, I'm a half-breed! My mother is Filipino and my father is Korean. Oh, and believe me, I know how it feels to be "suffocated" with the pressure of being thin. I understand what you're saying completely. Asians are "delicate, petite, and small".

You can, however, make your own image. Don't try to fit into stereotypes that the world has set for each race. I definitely learned that the hard way, especially after being surrounded by beautiful and...incredibly skinny siblings.

Let's just show the world what we got, hm?

Totally agree with ya and Cosmonaut on asians "shd be delicate, petite, and small" sterotype. I've never been skinny before! Born a 9 pounds over, lol.
But I do believe we can be slim & healthy. Just not skinny. Msg me too gals! Dun leave me out!

Congrats on your transformation......you look hot (the expression on your face in the "after' shots says you know it too!!). It's not easy shedding those kilos (pounds) but when you see results like yours you know it's worth it. Great work!!!

I really appreciate all your kind comments. It puts a huge smile on my face. Truthfully, I got off track for a while due to school and other things. I managed to lose only five more pounds, but right now I'm definitely determined to persistently attack the rest of my weight!

You look so beautiful and you've made such great progress. You should be very proud. You look happier in your current pictures too.

I read your journal months ago and found it very moving, especially the stuff about the comments your pregnant sister made. (I think it was your sister.) I hope you're feeling better about yourself these days. And I also hope you're not letting other people's stupid comments get to you.

Well..not forgetting me..another asian from Singapore..basically my whole life i have heard ppl telling me abt wat BIG BONES i have..and another fav words or phrase thta they love to use, BIG SIZE..it sickens me totally..and I hv to admit I have very big issues wif confidence.and now that i hv a girl of my own, i dun want her to be suck in into this vicious cycle..doesn't help that my hub is NOT big boned or big size..sheeshh..and yes I do understand the pressure of ppl expecting asians to be SMALL, delicate, slim boned..watever u call it.And of cos..girl you loook soooo pretty now, you were pretty before but my my..very hot after...And can understand your excitement TOTALLY..that you can fit into a size S, well for me if i can fit into M for skirts i will be jumping up n down but I have gone from XL to an L..but there is still work (plenty) that needs to be done..congrats again..for yr hard work..
