Hi,
This is my very first post, though I've been lurking (and losing by eating right and working out pretty intensely) for the past couple of weeks.
You are truly inspirational.
I have a couple of questions for you though, primarily one regarding daily workout regimens. How do you have time to work out 2 hours a day?
I have to be at work at 7:45, which means I have to be home and eating breakfast by no later than 6:45. The
gym opens at 5:30, but unofficially at 5:15. So I'm up at 4:45 and out the door by 5:10 so I can be downstairs and on the
treadmill by 5:15. (The
gym is right by my house, a five minute walk.) The most I could possibly do in the morning is 1.5 hours and even that is pushing it for time. Did you split your workout time up so you were hitting the
gym twice a day? I've thought about doing only
cardio in the mornings and then doing my weight training in the evenings 3-4 times per week, but I'm not sure if that even makes sense. I absolutely refuse to do all of my workouts in the evening, especially not an hour of
cardio. I know myself, and I know if I wait to do that after hours of teaching I simply won't get it done. I am, however, willing to do some
cardio (20 minutes to get my
heart rate up) and my weight training in the evenings 3-4 days per week in addition to only
cardio in the morning 7 days per week
Anyway, I'm not sure if it matters much, but I saw in a sticky post you're supposed to include your height and weight and all that stuff when asking for advice.

Some of my
weight loss occurred while I was traveling overseas during the month of July, though how much I lost overseas I am uncertain. It was probably 5-8
pounds, as it wasn't enough for anyone to notice, but my clothes felt a little bit more loose by the time I came home.
As of now I'm doing an hour of
cardio 7 days per week and about 45 minutes of weight training 3-4 days per week. I'm only able to do this now because I'm still on summer break and don't really have to do anything or be anywhere after the
gym. On days when I do my weight training I am at the
gym for 1 hour and 45 minutes easily.
My other question is about your food intake. How is it possible for you to eat that many
calories after having had GBS. My friend had GBS on Halloween of last year and is now down 140
pounds. She hardly eats anything because she simply can't eat much at one sitting. She has started going to the
gym, but she is incapable of working out really hard simply because she isn't consuming enough food to support rigorous exercise. She's also much older than you; she's 55 and has been really
fat for about 25-30 years. I adore her and want the best for her and am really proud of her, but I often feel concern for her because I fear she isn't eating enough.
In case you can't remember my questions, here they are again:
How do you consume that much food after having had GBS?
Do you split your workout or
gym time up so you're exercising twice a day?
And if you don't do that, do you know if it's even beneficial to do
cardio in the mornings and then short
cardio and weight training 3-4 days per week in the evenings?
You're awesome!
