Rep Power: 0 | | | Amazing I can't say anything else but what an amazing weight loss!! How long did it take you? I saw that you had surgery, did all the extra skin come off?
You really are a true inspiration! What gave the motivation? |

Rep Power: 20 | | | I'm sure when you are that big, and have that much weight to lose, there will always been excess skin. But I'm curious to know if there is any truth behind the idea that if you lose weight too quickly, you risk having more excess skin than if it were taken off slower. |

Rep Power: 79 | | the skin will either snap back or not, just depends on your body make up and age etc.
If you loose slower the only difference is that it will snap back as you loose rather than in the year or two afterwards. It takes the same time to snap back - just that one makes you skinny faster i think |

Rep Power: 79 | | why do people thnk scars are yuck ?
Im curious, iver never cared if i had a scar or anything. Its just a bit of weird looking skin. Im not keen on seeing disfigurement, but a scar is no problem for me.
Id absolutly rather have the scar than the skin (i have the skin now, its as bad as being fat almost, only slightly easier to hide) |

Rep Power: 0 | | I`m with Wishes on the scar thing. I lost over 80lbs in under 18 months and after waiting a year I realised my skin would never go back enough so I had to have an abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck). I may be left with a scar around my waist but its hidden and I have a perfectly flat stomach now. I`ll take the scar any day of the week instead of having kilos of excess skin hanging from my body. If you lose alot of weight over quite a short time then you have to make the choice about putting up with excess skin for the rest of your life or having it removed.
For me personally, the surgery also completed my transition to a whole new body so it was well worth the expense and recovery time. If you can afford it and more importantly need it, then I say go for it. |
