newbie before pics, 5'3" 154 lbs - bikini beware :(
Hi everyone!
I'm new to the forum.
I want to thank everyone who has posted their before and after photos. They are so inspiring and helpful. That's why I wanted to post my pictures, although I'm really embarrassed to even look at them myself. In my mind, I don't think I look so bad until I look at pictures. I never knew I had so much back fat. I would love to see some shoulder blades! I posted before and deleted it because I felt so embarrassed, but you guys have given me the courage to post again.
I'm currently 154. I've lost 12 lbs so far (over like .. 6 months!), 25 more to go (though I think I'd be content with another 15). I've struggled with weight for a very long time now, and I really pack on the pounds during stressful times. I love to stay active with snowboarding and surfing but being so self-conscious holds me back from doing the things I love to do. I'm determined to lose the weight!
Update (10/10/08)
Now 144lbs (lost 10 and haven't budged).
Don't see much of a difference except at the waist but wanted to share with you all. It's been awhile! Hopefully I'll have more encouraging pictures in the next few months.
Sorry my camera was broken so I had to use my camera phone and my dirty bathroom mirror!

Man......I can't wait until I have a nice little body like that! I'm five pounds heavier than you and my body doesn't look anywhere near as good as yours does!
Seriously, you have a nice body. Your right, 15 pounds would be plenty (in my opinion) and maybe a little toning, other than that, you look fantastic!
Good luck

are you guys serious? I've always thought my exes were just saying that to be nice ... but guys always gawk at the stick thin hollywood celebs/models .. so then I wasn't so sure. I was never skinny before, but I used to have a really flat stomach before I gained my weight. I always had the thick thighs/butt .. so I'm not sure how much weight I should aim to lose?

Nope.
That's the funny thing. The stick thin, crackhead looking women are the ones our society puts a spot light on..... however, none of the guys I know go for that sort of thing.
I like some curves and even some meat to my woman.

Lose until you are happy with what you see reflecting back at you in the mirror. Don't worry about putting a specific number on that.

from a guys view, you are drop dead gorgeous as is. You have a nice figure and like steve said it will only get better from here on. Also steve is right about those twig like women that society "loves" to see, however in my opinion i'd rather have a girl with meat and not just full of bones. Don't be shy about your body as it is right now becuase most guys love that type of body on women. Best of luck to you!!!
