I cheated and looked ahead at your gallery. First of all, you're very pretty! Your first diary blog shows your determination. I've only been a member here for a few days, but the support and love in this forum is amazing! Know that you've got people from all over who are cheering you on in your weight loss endeavor. I have been on the forum for about 2 or 3 weeks now, and it's helped me a lot. It's even driven me to gym a few times! I'll be back next week with more updates!

It's crazy... you have the exact same stomach as me. Smaller legs and a stomach that hangs over and that horrible fat line at the bottom of your stomach. I hate that!!! Then you wear tight shirts and your stomach really sticks out!! People actually never believed me when I told them I'm 145 becaus emy legs are small and I'd hide my tummy in a baby doll shirt!

Well congrats on your 15 lb loss so far!! Keep up the great work girl

So it’s only normal for me to want to get back to my most natural state.

Between the ages of 4 and 10 I started copying behavior I learnt from watching my mom – binge eating. By the time my mother realized I had been doing this, it was already clearly visible by my chubbiness:



So I went to my first dietician. Sometimes I think it was a good thing because I learnt a lot about nutrition and healthy living. I still see myself as a “guru” in my circle of friends!

So, following a healthy eating plan (NOT a diet ) I slimmed down quite a bit by age 12:



Continuing with the healthy living, and starting horse riding, I think I arrived at what looks like my ideal weight by age 14:



I maintained this weight pretty well for a few years. By age 15 I had gotten a more womanly figure, which filled me out a bit.



This is about when I started partying and drinking. My social life also became more important than horse riding. At this time, I fell into an “alcohol-induce” depression. It does run in my family (depression), so I was taken to a neurologist and prescribed antidepressant pills.

Just before I turned 16, I fell pregnant. I ended up not having the baby, but the weight I had had gained was still there. I was also very depressed and still drinking too much (binge drinking) over weekends. This is how I looked 2 months after the pregnancy:



I stayed at more or less this weight, and even did some modeling. They weren’t commercial, just awesome glam shots:



Now, I think it was my ongoing struggle with depression that got me to my next weight. I was still doing some photoshoots, but these are the pictures where I actually thought “Is that me? Ugh!”

I still wasn’t making any changes to my lifestyle, so the weight stayed on, and here’s me at age 19, on holiday in September 2007. These are what I consider my “before” bikini pics!

So in April 2008, I decided I was going to do this thing once and for all. I wanted to make a lifestyle change. I looked into programs I could join, and signed up for “Weigh-Less”. We eat according to weighed portion sizes and try to keep foods healthy. As you get closer to goal, the plan eases up, so that you can use it for the rest of your life to maintain.

In the 7 weeks I’ve been with them I have lost 7kg (15lbs). Great, especially coz I suck at math… that’s a kilo per week, sweet!

These are pictures I took of me last week. They look about the same as the bikini pics, but I picked up a lot beginning of this year and had to lose all that to get to where I am now. So here are my “just getting started, 7 weeks in” shots:
