My progress photos

Hi all,
hopefully it's ok for me to post these. I haven't actually been trying to lose weight. I've been on a muscle building program. My goals have been to increase my lean muscle mass without gaining much fat. That's hard because to gain muscle the body needs loads of extra calories. I already have asuper high metabolism, so it's hard to fit in more food! It's an easy excuse to eat high calorie junk food to fit the calories in. But, that will just make me gain fat! Anyway, I've done loads of muscle building programs before, but this one was by far the most successful. I finally learned to trust myself in what I knew would work best for me (other people pay for my exercise and nutrition advice, but sometimes I can't listen to myself!) and i has paid off! I'm going to start another muscle building cycle soon, then in May I'll switch to fat loss and focusing on my cardio vascular goals.

So, here are my pics taken Sunday:

Sarah, your results look great! I'm trying to gain muscle mass as well. I'm just interested, how long did it take for you to see results?

I've been going to the gym about 4 to 5 nights a week, doing 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of weights, and 10 minutes of floor exercises. I'm losing weight pretty quickly, but I haven't really gained much muscle mass.

Are you using a personal trainer?

Thanks everyone!

Chris, I'm not using a personal trainer because I am one. I have an online business. Gaining muscle can be really hard. Are you doing that cardio before weights? If you want to gain muscle it's best to do weights by themselves and cardio at another time. You need to have a real good meal both before and after your workouts with lots of good carbs and protein. Because everyone is so different someone else could do exactly what I did and not gain an ounce...

Gee.. really wish my arms were like that.... Actually I'd take anything other than these big old flabby things I have heh.

Anywho.. keep us posted on your awesome muscles and how you're doing!

i am so impressed...any tidbits of advice....i think we are all listening...i am where you are (a little different as i need to burn some fat as well and you do not!) but i am dying for some muscle building.....

Hey Sarah, I looked at your personal pages before this one and was admiring the nice tone.
Im doing weights myself as a way to loose weight but also so im gonna look hot and feel fantastic as i go.

Ive been doing it for about 3 months and apparently (according to the gym trainer) im a natural and very strong (? dunno what thats compared to).
Anyway Its good to see your pics and give me some motivation to get there

I love your arm muscles...years ago, before my kids came along, my arms looked like that and seeing those pics of your arms makes me want them back so much more! Keep up the great work! You should be very proud of yourself!!
