Loose Skin?

Hello, I am a 20 year old male who has lost 115lbs (364-249) the problem I am facing is loose skin mainly around my torso. I was wondering if anyone has had success with tightening up their loose skin after weight loss, and if so how did you do it? I've been lifting weight 5 times a week for a year and a half now with little progress. I also do 15 minutes of cardio five days a week and an hour on Saturday, Sunday I rest, again little progress. Help me out if you can, its begining to look as if surgery is the only solution :-\ Any advice is appriciated.

-Mike

If you're not too shy, perhaps pictures would help. We could help guage if it's indeed just loose skin or maybe half loose skin half left over fat that still needs to be lost before the skin will tighten itself up. Is it around the chest? or stomach

If you look about there are already a few threads addressing this. If you are young and lost slowly with good diet theres a good chance of some of it disappearing.

Generally though you are outta luck unless you can get surgery. It depends on if its more than you can live with i guess. I have some pretty bad skin probs having lost more, but im 35 and it looks ok tucked into clothes (just no bikini for me eh!). Eventually id like it removed, but for now its not a priority.

i lost about the same amount of weight as you. i have some looses skin i have been working on. first of all it takes time. second it takes alot of work. i weight train heavy every 2 days and do push ups and pull ups the days i dont.this has helped me put on a good amount of muscle. i also do alot of cardio, about 1 hour a day. i do about 2000 ab reps doing varying exercises everyday. there is always more fat trapped in that looses skin, and work is all that will help. i also use a combination of aloe/vitamine/cocoa butter. this has all helped. i am not perfect but i look pretty good. more time and my routines will keep chipping away at it. i dont want to talk down to some people who have had the surgery or float my own boat, but the tummy tucks i have seen leave an ugly scar and the people still dont look that great. i personally feel i have had more success and look better. you can check out my results a few topics down and see what i have accomplished. dont rush it and work harder, i know its not easy. at least you have youth on your side, im in my mid 30's. good luck.

It took me roughly eight months to loose the 115lbs and I have been keeping my weight stable for just over a year now. I do not do quite so many ab exercises however so maybe I'll try to pick that up as well. Besides the stomach any suggestions on loose skin under the arms (side bood) and back? I've been working out my lat's twice a week with not much improvment. and I have no idea which way to turn to work on the skin just below my arm pits, funny thing is though its only really bad on my right side so I look very a-semetrical w/ my shirt off, I'll try to get some pics posted later when I'm alone in my room!

doing ab exercises wont make a lick of difference. Try informing yourself with some facts by reading the sticky threads
