I am kinda new to working out and dieting etc..... I'd like peoples opinions on my routine.... I know i'm supposed to get more calories in when i'm exercising but am i getting enough calories? I am quite satisfied with what i am eating.... couldnt imagine eating more... what do you guys think?

Breakfast package of Crunchy Granola bar...

Lunch Turkey breast sandwich on wheat bread, light yogurt with flax seed added, and fruit.... like an apple or a banana or an orange....

Dinner mixed veggie salad... light french dressing.... baked chicken with mixed veggies.

Snack an apple sometimes light ice cream... or a handfull of peanuts.

When i get home from work:

i go on the tredmill for a half hour going 3.8-4mph
then i go on the elliptical for 30 mins...

I weighed 210 when i first started this routine.... now today i weighed myself at 199... is a 1lb a day average ok to be doing?

sounds just fine to me, you might want to start thinking of picking up treadmill speed and changing your meals eventually, because you won't keep losing roughly one lb a day, it gets harder to lose weight as you go on

I've started to do 3.8 regularly then every 5 mins i jump up to 5.0 for a minute. I notice it keeps me sweating throughout the workout.

yeah anaerobic exercise will help to increase your metabolism so keep on doing those intervals on the treadmill :]
im sure there are treadmills that you can programme now to do interval work?
also i find gradient very useful on treadmills as it really seems to knacker me out and burn tons of calories

Do you know how many calories you are consuming? Roughly I would say less than 1000. At 199 you need more, and you need more balance of macronutrients. I weighed in at 201 and I was at 2500-2800 during weight loss. I dropped 10lbs and 6% bf in probably three months doing no aerobic training.

I recommend you increase your calories. How long have you been eating like this? That will determine how quickly you can up them. You should roughly be getting around 45% carbs, 35% protein, and 20% from fats. Again roughly.

The interval training on the treadmill is a very good idea instead of the old 3.8 for however long. 1lb a day is not really possible since 1lb is equal to 3500 calories.

before starting this plan i was eating pretty much anything i wanted whenever i wanted.... so i never really knew what i was taking in for calories... what do you guys think i should be taking in? the tredmill says i burn about 700 calories... i find it really hard to take in more calories because i'm trying to eat as healthy as i can and avoid anything fatty or sugary, which i find easy because i really enjoy eating healthy and i dont find myself craving sweets and fatty foods anymore.... and to just eat more makes me feel like i'm stuffing myself when i dont need to. i really appreciate you guys giving me advice.

You seem to have a really balanced meal plan! I really can't think of any additional foods you could be taking in. Possibly a bigger breakfast though?

I don't know if your treadmill is correct.. thats about what I burn after running on it for 45 minutes at about 7 or 8 mp/h, and your on it for 30 min doing 4mp/h

I feel the same way about what I eat, I like eating things that are healthy, anything else gives me headaches, or just makes me not feel the best.

I had the same problem. Try throwing in things like a few nuts (cashew or something) into your salads, maybe some avacado etc.
There is some good stuff for you that is high cal

Venice girl has a brilliant future
I'd suggest to try and eat fruits as snacks and not as a part of lunch/dinner because my doctor told me that fruits are better digested when eaten alone, and that sometimes they could interfere with the digestion of other foods.

Good luck with your goals!

the fruits thing makes alot of sense. so far i'm down to 190 my clothes are fitting so much better now. added another workout machine to my home gym. a Latteral Thigh Stepper. i feel more of a burn with it than my regular stair stepper... i'm not sure if i can say this here, but FreeCycle is a great way to get work out equipment for free. and to give away workout equipment you dont want anymore. thats where i got my tredmill. which inspired me to start my weight loss journey.
