Rep Power: 7598 | | | Stopped, but is starting again. I am starting to feel like crap again... I basically just gave up since my progress was going so slow, and started to indulge in regular food, deepfried food, and alcohol, and chocolate... It's been pretty bad. When I stopped I think I was... 161, and now I'm back to 164. I really want to just break 160. I think that will be my goal for the next 2 weeks. to be 159. It would make me feel so much better. Anyways I hope that the forum will get me back to where I left off. |

Rep Power: 10 | | You were almost there, so i know you can make it. Remember that indulging is good ... it'll actually keep you on track when you take a break for A day ... just not longer than a day Try putting the scale in the kitchen as a constant reminder to reach that 159 ... |

Rep Power: 24 | | | Nymphetamine - you can do this! I agree with everything that AllCdnBoy said... you need to give yourself space to have what you want, but also, if you really want to lose this weight, you know that you can do it. try to find some healthier alternatives to the things that you love to indulge in - and turn them into special treats, instead of those things you turn to. I know for myself I have been trying to reward myself for specific accomplishments. Maybe a week without all of the deep fried food and snacky stuff would warrant going out for a sundae? We are here supporting you, and if you want to break 160, you know that we are on your side. Any encouragement you need - just let us know! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey Nymphetamine, i'm at 164 too so i feel your pain lol. This site is the greatest for giving advice on starting over, many of us are doing just that. I agree w/ the others don't be so hard on your self and do give your self a treat once a week (portion it if you can ) it keeps me from going nuts and then i don't over do it w/ the unhealthy suff. Heres the advice the others gave me... shake things up w/ your exercise routine and diet. i'm eat 6x's a day and i find it really helps.also knowing what your daily calorie are(bmr type thing)helps alot. hope this helps |

Rep Power: 7598 | | | lol thanks.. it's been almost 2 weeks since i've been active in the forum. It may seem not that long, but it really feels like it to me. Anyways, I used to ocunt everything I ate, but I noticed it was such a hassle. So what I think I should do is just keep track of the stuff i'm eating, but not to the point where I'm counting every single little detail. |

Rep Power: 24 | | | that's a really good idea... after spending so much time counting, you kind of know what is good for you and what isn't... just at the end of the day, write down how you did... if you didn't do so well, make note of it - and try harder the next day. Don't make it into a chore, but try to think of it as a great way to do something good for yourself =) |

Rep Power: 7598 | | | yeah... hm I have a question:
I was reading osme websites, and some ofthem are saying that if you do prolonged cardio, and you are on a low calorie diet, you would only burn muscle. Is that true? Because I thought it was that you would burn fat, but muscle as well. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | its true its true! low calorie diets pretty burn away some muscle with the fat, thats why extremely low cals kill your metabolism and muscles, and its why bodybuilders dont do cardio all the time, only during a show. cardio encourages your body to become more efficient, so the muscles shrink |

Rep Power: 7598 | | | So I'm just trying to lose fat, and get leaner muscles.. does it mean that I shouldn't be on a low calorie diet while doing prolonged cardio? I've been doing the whole low calorie/ lots of cardio before, and I have lost some weight, but not that many inches...What should I do?? |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Well lifting weights is important. If your looking to preserve your musclle prolonged cardio=bad, HIIT is the way to go to preserve muscle. and the calorie thing, if your near 1200 calories like some people on here then thats definitely a muscle waster, go with somewhere around 2000 calories. pushing yourself with those weights will help too. Like I said when trying to cut fat its nearly impossible to not lose some muscle, unless ya got great genetics(very few do) |
