My before and after... from couch slob to a half marathoner.
Ok I hope this works...
I am 23 years old and was never the slim one in the class. I was always at the back of the pack when it came to sports. I suffer from asthema and have a disk in my back that keeps herniating but I thought it was about time I did something and got off my backside and stopped using my aches and pains to hide behind.
So October 2006 I decided enough was enough and singed myself up for a half marathon... My weightloss of 18lbs (and counting) is a result of regular exercise and no dieting (in fact I probably eat MORE now, just the right foods instead)
This Sunday (Feb 25th 2007) is the day of my 1/2 marathon (please think of me)
I know my weighloss is nothing compared to others out there, but the mental struggle has been the same. I hope to one day become an inspiration to somebody and perhaps give them the courage to step out and complete something that was never thought possible of them.

Howdy way to go on your progress! I take every pound as meaning alot
no matter if you have to lose 100 lbs or 10 lbs it's all hard work and honestly
I think the last bit of weight will be actually physically the hardest to lose.
Congrats Tammy

you look great- best wishes on your half marathon! Dont ever let anyone make you think that your accomplishments are any less great as anyone elses! No matter how much anyone has to lose- its hard for anybody! I'm very proud of you!

Thats just from Running, I never even knew I had them .. they must have been hiding lol.
I am yet to start a weight lifting/strength program. I would like to, as it will improve my running form. However I'm a bit reluctant with my back. We'll see.
Thanks again to everyoe who has commented. You have really made my week.

I must have a double. I live in chilly Winnipeg.
I'm actually from Wales UK but moved to Canada 2 years ago exactly the date of my half marathon. What a way to celebrate eh?!
