Hello i love this idea and have been doing a goal of trying to get in 10,000 steps/per day a week with my pedometer although mine doesn't count how many calories i burn just how many steps miles i have done.
anyways i also work out 20-60 minutes on the elliptical 6 days a week and do 15-30 minutes of strength training-3-4 days a week.
2,291 steps - 1.8 ml - 60 cals burned {according to step count}
I know a lot more were burned while standing in one place dusting/mopping for example.. Plus, just bc of how much I had to keep gettin' the sweat off me..lol
I'll go walkin' with ZuZu in just a little while as well..
I am not a member of WW as I had a failed attempt with them 11 years ago. I lost two and a half stones (i.e. 35 pounds) which was nowhere near as much as I needed to lose, and then stopped and within a few months had put it all on again plus some extra.
A friend of mine is a member of WW. She recommended the pedometer as the previous one that I tried kept undercounting big-time. I got her to get it for me. I am really pleased with it and wear it all the time. It goes on when I get dressed and only comes off when I go to bed.
My pedometer lists WW points (whatever they may be), steps and miles.
My husband got an OMRON model HJ-113-E - but was less than happy when he realised that it does not count the first four seconds of any burst of activity. It means that a lot of minor activity gets missed off.
I see that you started the challenge on 28th Sept.
My data for the days completed so far are
28/09/2007 33779 steps, 12.52 miles
29/09/2007 35516 steps, 13.17 miles
I will post in the final total for today as it finishes.
I know it sounds quite a lot but I am throwing myself full time into this project. Walking is the central theme of it - even more than food. I realise that I am fortunate in being able to currently devote as many hours to walking as I do. The biggest threat is that I will not go out and then my step count will be back down to near zero. I am particularly aware of this as we move into autumn and then winter and the weather gets worse. I didnt get to be 21 stones (i.e. 294 pounds) by loving exercise.
Monday had some horrible weather in south England. After a dull start the rain started about 10 a.m. I was like a drowned rat when I got home from my morning long walk about 1 p.m. Thankfully I was in a keep fit class for an hour and a quarter of that time.
Shame some of your heat couldnt have dried up our rain.
Outdoor walking is brilliant in good weather - not too hot, not too wet etc. but is less brilliant in poor weather.
Thankfully it had stopped raining for my afternoon walk.
Nothin' went as planned for me.. I think I have a pulled muscle in right leg!?
As I was leaving and going down the stairs, I felt this sharp pain.
Once in the car I checked to see what was going on and I'm swollen with a huge/hard knot..It's located to the right of sock line..{I wear my socks scrunched down..only way I know to describe where the prob is..}
I was scared to park far away like I was planning, so I parked far enough where I could still get some steps in..
As I was shopping it was bothering me..
Once home I took ZuZu for a short potty walk and that's all I could handle..
I love anything with numbers (maybe it's due to my OCD haha), so I looooove pedometers. I would love to join this group, but I currently do not have a pedometer. I wore mine when I went to the lake with my friends, and you guested it...I forgot to take it off when I went into the water. lol
Friday I get paid, so I'll go down to a sports shop and pick one up. I'll start posting my steps ASAP.
