Monday: 4/7/08
Calorie goal: 1400
Calories consumed: 1305
Calories remaining: 95

It was a very lazy day for me yesterday. I didn't do a thing... well I went to a meeting but that's it. Took the buss though because the weater was really horrid.

I'm doing good with my cals so far today. And I just finished an hour of DDR so I can get something extra to eat today. Dunno what it'll be though... Oh well.

Good to see that people are doing good so far. GO TEAM!

Hikari - for a snack, depending on my mood, I usually opt for air popped popcorn or a sugar free choc pudding w/ cool whip.
I havent tried DDR, tho the kids have it upstairs. I looks like fun tho!
christen- awesome exercise! tennis really burns
mom2-you inspired me to eat some cottage cheese doubles today- a really good snack having protein, fat and carbs
bmohearn-i'll repost the points for ya

As of lunch, I'm doing well:
Recommended calories: 1388
Calories consumed: 635
Calories remaining for today: 753

I use the selfdietclub site, its free if you get the magazine and makes tracking pretty easy.

Sadly I don't have an airpopper... if I had one I would have popcorn for sure, I love popcorn!
...I think I need to do some shopping for good low fat snacks... at the moment I don't have any at home. I have fruits and carrots though. They're healthy! lol

And you should try DDR, it's fun, and you certanly work up a sweat while dong it. I jumped 5.5km today. The downside to the game though, is that I really don't like some of the songs on it, so I make a workout list of songs and use the same list over and over again. Some songs I don't even have to really concentrate to get through anymore. lol

I managed to get a like 1200 combo at some point.... it was last summer though.... and the comentary voice kept saying 'I can't even count that high' ever new 100 I goot. I shall see if I can acomplish that again someitme.

Yaay... I'm done rambling now.

Hakari, that is funny about DDR. I took dance classes for 10 years and I have so much trouble with that game! I have it here at the house but I put it away because I was so bad at it! Maybe I should pull it out and have another go at it It is definitely good exercise thats for sure!

I've had a few dance classes as well, but only for fun. It's quite different though in a way. DDR ya have to have really good eye foot cordination, to be able to process which foot goes where and so on. lol. In the beginning people usually stands in the middle of the mat and steps out on single arros and then goes back to the middle. I used to play like that, and there's no way to stepp on all the arrows that way because you're making a unnessearey step.
The best way is really to stand on two arros either <- -> aroows and then go from there.
And it's important to twist the body so yer not always facing the tv ya know?
It's much more fun when you're able to get really long combos or finish a whole song without messing up and miss a bunch of arrows. It takes a while to get a hang of it, if you're not really good at the eye foot cordination thing that is.

It's hillarious to watch people play though. Especially if they're new to the game.

....and once more I rant. Just a few tips to make the game more fun, hopefully.

And in other news~ I stayed within my caliroes today as well. 1550 due to the hour of DDR.

Hope everyone are doing ok as well. Now however, I am of to bed.

Wow ladies, looks like we are all doing so well, great work!

I had a bit too many empty calories today (310) to be exact, but I stayed within range at 1953/1900 and jogged 2.5miles.

Yarmiah-puppy is so cute!

Hikari-sounds like you are a DDR pro, I have never even seen it but rest assured I have zero coordination and could not do it LOL!

Good going on the jogging Mom2... jogging/running is not my thing. Maybe after a month of DDR I'll try it.

And I wouldn't say I'm a pro.... I would call myself... An advanced begginer.

Hey ladies. I had a good day yesterday I was low on calories again though.. I feel like I am always snacking/ eating, I don't know why I cant get in the 1500. I dont feel like I should eat just to meet quota if I am not hungry though.. What do you think? My internet is down so I will be journaling on paper and updating you all as soon as ever thing is working again.

Hakari- I do exactly what you said.. I stand in the middle of the mat! After some more practice I will try what you said.

Yarmiah- I did go to yoga yesterday and it was relaxing but not a good workout. It was basically like a one hour long stretch with a few core strengthening poses! It was a good warmup for the rest of my cardio and weights though!

Mom2- great job on jogging! That really burns calories. I am not a good runner, I always get shin splints and after years of volleyball my knees are bad as well.

I will be in touch when I can! Keep it up everyone!

I'm about to head to choir- a pretty good day all in all. Had cravings today, likely due to my TOM coming up. I'm slightly over my calories, but within the 100 range, so its all good.

yay!

Finally got my internet working again at the house! Today was a pretty good day. I am still not getting all of my calories in though.. My appetite has really shrunk since I started eating healthier. I did manage to get in 1100 calories today though so I dont feel as if my body thinks its in starvation mode lol. I am going to eat some strawberries after I post to up it another 100.

I took a body works class today that kicked my butt! I felt like the teacher was Jillian from The Biggest Loser. I am so sore I dont think I am going to be able to move tomorrow at all. It was an hour long of fast paced free weights with no breaks... It works every muscle in your body it seems like. It was a great workout and maybe it will get easier as the weeks go on. I didn't realize how weak I was!! I burned about 450 calories I am guessing based on calorie calculators.

Hope everyone had a great day!

yarmiah-ooh those TOM cravings are the worst. I found junior fudge pops no added sugar at my grocers last time, for 40 calorie each they really hit the spot!

Hikari-Nice job sticking to the calories, nice ot see you 'chatting' too I know you said yoru tendency is lurking. Take care!

Cristen-I think that if you keep your calories too low for too long your metabolism will suffer in the end and your wieght loss will slow drastically. I know its tempting but I think it always backfires in the end, that being said I would not eat just ot get poitns for the challenge. If you stick with eating less this week and loose more than 2lbs then I would say you should up the cals a bit. Just my 0.02

Bmohearn-are you out there? Hope all is well

I have been feeling a bit ill today and have not eaten a whole lot, hubby took me out to dinner but even with that I am still at only 1500/1900 I dont anticipate having a 400 calorie snack so I will not get points but weight loss is my primary goal and I did not excercise today so I dont need those calories anyway.

oh and I forgot who asked but my daughter is 15 months
