Rep Power: 5 | | The 8 Week Extreme Challenge! Hey everyone! This challenge is going to be set up a lot like the April Fool's Challenge that just ended. It's just keeping track of pounds, but sometimes my brain hurts when I try to do all the other math!!
Just set a goal for how much weight you want to lose in about 8 weeks! At this point in time, you need to set your goal for what you would like to see yourself weighing in at on Saturday, June 6, 2009. The winner gets a healthier and longer life - So let's get working!

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi! I'd like to join if that's ok.
I won't be able to post my weight but I will post my weight change (as my dietitian doesn't tell me my actual weight.)
My goal weight-loss is 12-16 lbs by the end of the 8 weeks, or 1.5-2 lbs per week.
Are we posting what we eat and how much we exercised each day? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Yay! I'm so excited/happy that we're doing this!!
Well today I am going to a college visit in UGA so I will have lunch there but I heard the food is great so I'm sure I can find a salad bar or something.
So far today I had a diet hot cocoa mixed w/ coffee, an 80-cal vanilla yogurt mixed w/ cocoa powder and cinnamon, and a banana w/ 1 T peanut butter (that was my b-fast.)
I'm not really supposed to be exercising but I think if I have time I will go to the gym today just to walk on the treadmill for like an hour b/c at least that's something! |

Yesterday I had:
Breakfast - hot cocoa, yogurt, banana w/ 1T PB [1/2 milk, 1 protein, 1 fruit, 1 fat]
Lunch - salad, steamed squash and carrots, 1 hard-boiled egg, 1 baked potato [1 protein, 1 starch]
Snack 1 - pretzels w/ LC cheese [1 starch, 1/2 protein]
Snack 2 - protein bar [1 protein, 1 fruit]
Dinner - salad w/ 1/4c cottage cheese, 1c spaghetti squash w/ 1 boca burger, green beans, and diced tomatos/sauce [1 1/2 proteins]
Snack 3 - hot cocoa, protein bar [1/2 milk, 1 protein, 1 fruit]
--------------------------
Total: [1 milk, 6 1/2 protein, 3 fruit, 1 fat, 2 starches]
By the way, I don't do calories - I used to, obsessively. So, my dietitian has me just counting the exchanges, and I'm supposed to have 1 milk, 2 fat, 2 starch, 6 protein, 3 fruit in a day. I do still estimate the calories and I know they come up to around 1,200 because that's the plan she told me I'm on and I've also calculated it, but in an effort to break my own habit/obsession w/ calories I won't be writing those for my plan, only the exchanges. But you can estimate 1,200 cals if you're curious, haha!
Today I ran out of yogurt but my mom is going to the store so she will pick some up for me but so far I had a hot cocoa and I'm going to have my banana w/ peanut butter.
And yes, I do have the same thing every day - almost. It's basically exactly the same but sometimes I change it around a bit. But I change my entire plan every so often, too. Like, this wednesday, my dietitian and I are going to make a new plan. I know it might seem boring but it works for me and it's te only thing that does seem to work, I like it!
I talk a lot, I know, but oh well
Yesterday I walked around UGA all day.
Today in about an hour I'm going shopping w/ my mom and then I have to go to a rehearsal and then I have to go to a scouts meeting which is for Passover and we're having the meal but I'll be able to have exactly what I usually do, I'm not worried. I hope when I get back (evening) that I can squeeze in a trip to the gym to walk for an hour like 've been wanting to because this sedentary thing is killing me (even though my physical therapist will probably not approve...I gotta do what I gotta do, heh!)
Soooo....I feel like I am the only one posting here. How have YOU guys been doing? I hope great!! |

WOOT!
I just got home from playing an hour of tennis - I was going to go straight from tennis to the gym, but I was just too sweaty! So here I am at home for a quick change, and then I'll be on my way! Someone is BBQing outside and it smells AMAZING!
So far today I had a SlimFast Ultra for breakfast. 180 calories of chocolaty goodness filled with protein and vitamins! YUM! I've also had 36 ounces of water, so I'm on track for what I'd like to drink today since it is only 10:45AM here.
Hopefully I'll be on later with more updates for you folks - But if not I'll fill you in tomorrow!
P.S. pballerina you are doing awesome, but how long have you been eating that same menu? Does it get hard, or is it okay because you like the foods? Just curious!
P.P.S. heidilw it's awesome to have more people posting here! Good luck on your June goal! What's your ideal weight goal? |

Rep Power: 5 | | Sunday Afternoon, 4/05/2009 Home from the gym now. I did about 35 minutes on the incline trainer, which equaled out to be a distance a little over 1.5 miles, and over 1,000 vertical feet! It's kind of like I climbed over a 100 story building - which is neat! Then I did 24 reps on the bench press machine at 45 pounds, 12 reps of 40 pounds on the obliques, and a few other machines for inner and outer thighs.
I'm getting ready to make myself some lunch now, and then definitely a shower! I've had a hectic morning! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I've actually had this same menu for over 2 months. I'd rather not talk about it too much, but I was actually in recovery from an eating disorder when I went to my dietitian and she's been helping me. It's a long story and kind of confusing if I were to explain why I am on a weight loss diet if I've just recovered from an eating disorder, but that's how it is So I hae a goal weight of 118lbs but I am not told my weight, just the loss or gain. It's because I need to take it slowly and be very comfortable with my food plan that it's the same - and I don't mind it, in fact I need it that way.
But it is time for a change, so on Wednesday we'll revamp it a bit to make it more summery and to make for a change.
So far today I had:
hot cocoa
yogurt
banana w/ 1T PB
sandwich w/ 4 slices turkey
protein bar |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi! Mind if I bump into this with you guys? I tried another challenge on this site but it worked strangely and happened mostly with PMs, so I figured I'd try a different style.
My starting weight: 147 Goal by June: 125
I live in Michigan, and I'm going to England for a semester abroad in the fall so I really want to get in shape and show the world that not all Americans are flabby--and even when we get flabby, we have the willpower to keep it off. Plus I wouldn't be opposed to impressing a few cute British boys.
I don't much plan meals, I just eat when I'm hungry. Today I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of Raisin Bran. The fact is that most people mis-attribute what is actually thirst for hunger, so mostly I just drink a lot of water and if I'm still hungry after that I eat something, and I eat slow to make sure my body is getting the signal.
The gym on my university campus is free for students--please encourage me to go! Exercise is really where I fall flat. At the end of the day, I'm just a lazy college student.
Best of luck to everyone! |

Throughout college I think I went to our free gym maybe 20 times. That's over a span of FOUR YEARS! Now that I have to pay for it, I go all the time, but I wish I'd taken advantage of that perk then!!
We'll stay on you - And welcome to the challenge! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hi! I'm glad more people are joining - it's great!!
I'm still in High School, but the day before yesterday I went to visit UGA and the highlight of the tour was the gym for me, haha. I was just thinking how I would love to go every day for free (I'm a huge exercise person, I just love it!)
Today I have physical therapy and I'm hoping with fingers crossed that she'll approve of me starting som elight exercise again because I need it.
Soooo...I'll post food later today because I haven't eaten yet, really. My plan for today is this:
After breakfast, I will ice my ankle and do PT exercises and stuff. Then I have to re-organize and re-arrange my room and clean it all nice and spiffy! That will take all day! Then at 4 I have PT and fter that I ave about a million more things to do! |
