Rep Power: 45 | | Done well with my new food plan, at least Day 1 that is. You should've seen me yesterday! I really milked that "last day" mentality, mixed with the "its my birthday so I get to eat my cake and chocolates" mentality. Not great for a diet I'll tell ya! So here's what I've had so far:
Breakfast: 1 egg fried in coconut oil, 1 cup blueberries, tea w/ almond milk
Snack: 1 green apple w/ almond butter (raw/unsweetened)
Snack: nuts
Lunch: 1 egg; 1/4 avocado
Dinner: 2 servings ground beef w/ mexican seasoning; 1/4 avocado; 1/4 large tomato; onion; grated cheddar cheese
No breads, potato, rice, sugar, fruit juice, candy, cakes etc etc etc. Hey, calorie counting does NOT work for me anymore so now I'm going with food types instead. Of course these types of foods keep the calories relatively low at the same time, but I sure hope the removal of the simple carbs (even whole grains) does the trick. I am not hopeful but will just keep at it as I've tried just about everything else.
Hope everyone is reaching their goals today! |

Rep Power: 19 | | 35 minutes of interval walking and running on the treadmill this morning for 450 calories burned. I think my high was 176 and my average heart rate was 150. |

Best to everyone . | Hey Claud, good to see ya here My mom has been talking to me abt going raw...Im unsure I can afford it or convince the kids to do it...food combining is also good, might bwe a thought to look into that as well, appearantly it really works, I have a book on it... Rep Power: 19 | | | Hey all!
Well, don't know what happened this morning, but managed to oversleep by 30mins once I thought I had woken up! So there was no time for the exercise mat this morning, but I'm keen to do it later today.
I have ONE MORE thing I want to do this week, and that is a run. Any distance, any effort level, just a run. REMEMBER WHY I RUN.
I will report back.
And well done for yesterday everybody! |

Rep Power: 45 | | Thanks brazenlysweetie! I must say I didn't feel at all guilty by the 5 or so slices of my birthday cake I had! There is still one of the two cakes left, and a bit of the one I kept eating at. I didn't dare go near it yesterday though and I think I'm still feeling the effects of the sugar. I did admittedly go into this no simple carb diet with a BANG!! My poor H and baby discovered the last 2 pieces of the chocolates I scarfed down in my little birthday sugar binge..and I was glad to see em all go.
NOW! I am giving this diet a shot, like Relly, because we can never seem to shed our weight no matter what we do. Rell this is so cool that we're following the same diet. I read this free ebook, which is probably all total bull shit I realize, that says that you will not be in fat burning mode for 24 to 48 hours after eating even just 25 grams of simple carbs over the course of the whole day (but not including carbs from fruit/veggies/nuts which you can eat in abundance). The book says you will shed mostly water weight for the first week or two, and then you will start to shed one or two pounds of fat per week. The theory in the book is that the liver cannot release fat burning hormones in the presence of sugar or something to that effect lol. While this sounds hokey this is actually how things work, you need certain hormones to burn fat and certain hormones inhibit and prevent any fat burning--this is well known scientifically. So then if simple carbs cause the release of hormones (insulin being one) which inhibit fat burning for 1 to 2 days, then it makes you wonder why so many people, including myself, have lost weight eating simple carbs?! There is SO MUCH conflicting information out there gosh its hard to decipher, but I'm just trying different things and taking it all with a big grain of salt!
Rell, what types of foods are you eating now? Val and Alta seemed to be doing well on their raw diet. I know I could never keep it up, but in the back of my mind I'm trying to get more raw foods just knowing how much better it is. |

Rep Power: 45 | | Nah, we come and go here and there but we always find our way home. We will be battling our weight our whole lives, so I envision us involved in some kind of weight management forum for years to come..unfortunately lol.
So I'm eating my fruit cup right now, luckily there's a shop on the corner so I didn't have to clean and chop this morning. Scale at 149, but I have a feeling it went over 150 after my little birthday binge so I'm cool with that. If I get below 146, I will be below my recent plateau weight.
Hope everyone's having an accountable day . | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
