You will do it.
I have times during the day when I feel I am making no progress.
But I have clothes in my closet that I could not wear at all last year.
And now I can.
That is proof I am doing something right.
Yesterday I went shopping in an outfit I could not wear last summer. It made me feel good all day. And I have more energy too.

The watermelon is a good diuretic. And it tastes good besides and is loaded with vitamins and minerals.
It is sure better than most junk food out there.
I keep a watermelon in the fridge all the time now. And pumpkin seeds, and Gatorade.

Another thing...I had intestinal problems for a few months and could not get rid of them with meds.
I went to Trader Joe's and bought a quart of wild blueberry juice. $5.
My intestines straightened out overnight, and now I feel much better.
I drink 4 oz a day. Not much. There is no sugar in it.
They sell pure cranberry juice also...at half the price of health food stores.

See if there is a Trader Joe's near you:
http://traderjoes.com/locations/index.asp

Trader Joe's discounts a lot of health and diet foods, and their prices are reasonable on most other things.
(And they give out free samples, too)

There is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable.

stay in there myFirstOne. Getting down on yourself only makes you want to eat more, or at least me it does. Just be patient and the weight will come off, it seems like you are doing the right things. Your body probably just needs to adjust. I know there have been times in the past when even though I was doing everything right, I just couldnt seem to lose anything, in fact I gained weight one of those times even though I was exercising and eating right. So stick in there. Let us know if we can do anything to help you out.

I am doing good losing weight ... 1 pound a week.
All day yesterday I was down, thinking I was going nowhere and this dieting is not going to work.
And I felt like giving up and going off the diet.
Crazee!
So I just take it one day at a time.
Today or tomorrow I probably will come to my senses.
I AM NOT going to go off my diet just cuz I have a day or 2 of crazy ideas.
These negative thoughts are just part of the dieting process, I guess.
So hang in there. I am.

Bingo, my last two days have been bad as well. I havent ate well the last 2 or 3 days, and probably wont lose anything this week. But you know what, I kind of just look at it as a little break. I will get back next week and keep going. We have come too far and put in too much effort to quit now. Just imagine the feeling of putting on a pair of pants that you havent fit into in months or years. Its going to be great and well worth it! In fact as I am writing this I am thinking how bad ive wanted to eat everything today, I snacked on popcorn, some chocolate chips and had soda. But if this is my bad day, it used to be a regular day, so that keeps me going. We will work through this together Bingo, keep up the good work!

I have chocolate and soda in the house too.
As soon as it is gone, I will not buy any more.
All my microwave popcorn is gone. That is really high in calories!
All I have left is popcorn in a jar, and I have an old air popper to pop it in..Very low in calories that way.
(As long as I don't put much butter on it)
I think I just can't have those empty calorie foods in the house.
They used to refer to junk food as 'empty calorie' foods. empty of nutritional value.

When I am limited to healthy food choices I know I will not binge eat.
I am going to eat my pumpkin seeds today. They cut down on carbohydrate cravings.

Good luck to all this weekend!

Well, Well...I did lose another pound last week.
I did not think I would lose any weight, as I went to a church rummage sale yesterday to buy candles for the Big Pandemic that is coming.
(The power might go off for weeks; I got 2 shopping bags full of candles for $2)
They had a great dinner at the church in conjunction with their Festival.
I know it was good because I bought a dinner.
Lots of calories. But luckily I had not eaten lunch and had a very light breakfast.

Best of luck to all of you this coming week!

Tornado Days, I sure hope I lost weight this week.
I did go to a dinner party yesterday. So I may have eated too many calories.
I did watch what I ate, and just took a little of everything, but the calories can really add up anyway.
I cannot monitor my calories when I am away from home.
One dinner party a week can mess up my weight loss.
And I did pick up 3 pieces of exercise equipment at a yard sale. Cheap!
I am not into exercise much, but will use these every day, nevertheless.

nrthrnmomof3 was an inspiration to me:
http://weight-loss.fitness.com/before-after-between/4219-my-success-story-its-long-one-people.html

I am going to keep plugging on, week by week.
The next 52 weeks will go by whether I am on a diet or not, so I am going to keep counting those calories every day. And exercising a little.
I'll lose more weight some where along the line.
And you will too. Keep up the good work!

"Whenever I feel the urge to exercise I lie down until it goes away."
Mark Twain

Well Im up to 151 from 148 over the last 2 weeks. I have to get back on track. I find myself getting stuck going out to eat with coworkers at lunch adn then ordering bad food. It sounds so easy to say that when I go out to eat I will order healthy, but I never end up doing it. When I get there the cheeseburger sounds so good, and I think oh this one wont hurt...but it does! Im trying to eat lots more fruits and veggies so we will see how that works this week. Idealy I would like to eat healthy for the rest of my life, but I easily get off track.

Ella83, I did not lose anything this week.
So I will start counting my calories again.
It is when I eat outside of the house, when I can't count the calories, that screws up my diet..
I went to one dinner party, and that did it for me.

It looks like that is the same problem you have.
Can you take a lunch to work? That might help.
It would save money and calories at the same time.

I once lost 15 lbs when I was working. It took only a couple of months.
I took veggies and dip to work every day.
It was a BIG bag of veggies. And rice crackers too.
Good luck to everyone until next Monday!!

Hang your swimsuit
On the refrigerator door,
Then goodies inside
Will be easy to ignore.

I feel as if I've done really good this past week. Monday is a holiday, so weigh-in will be Tuesday morning. Keep your fingers crossed! Mickey won't be happy if I'm up again (...and neither will I!)

ah i went down to 158 - around 7 pounds down from what i started, and man i was so happy to think that only 13 pounds more to go. i really had to binge to get down to 158- i started fasting instead of dieting and all as i really wanted to come down..... anyways i did go down but then i went to a small dinner party, also my husband got some black forest cookies with fruit inside.... they were a killer and i kinda ate almost all of the 10 cookies
why i couldnt resist!??????
anyways now the bad new is i am back up 161 3 pounds up.
ill really watch out this week for sure and will come back to 158 to start over at my 13 last left.
i have 1 month 10 more days to go and i dont know if ill be able to lose these pounds, as remember, i have to go to my inlaws and my family for a visit with my new baby. i really need to lose weight as i dont want them aweing at all the pounds i gained with a baby, while my sister-in-laws lost them getting thinner than their pre-pregnancy weight. ill really have to work hard and thinking all this gives me more motivation. ill let u guys know coming monday whats the result

I have the same problem, i can not resist sweets if i see them. It sounds so easy to say that I will just say no, and I cant, especially if someone is offering them. we will resist together! if i really get the urge to eat uncontrolably i will message you and maybe that will take my mind off of it. feel free to do the same. good luck with weigh-in tornado days!

Down 1 more lb this week. I need to lose one more to get back to where I was 3 weeks ago. It disturbs me that in 2 weeks I gained so much weight back, and now its taken me over 3 weeks to get back to where I was. Its so not worth it. Well Im going to work hard this week. Best of Luck to everyone. See you next week!
