Jogging Question :D

Hey everyone hows it goin? Ive been reading up on jogging and ive read that the best time to jog is in the morning before breakfast because thats when you burn the most calories.

What is everyones opinion on that? Is that really the best time to jog, because I have a hard enough time waking up for school at 7, theres no way i could wake up at like 6 and go jogging. If the morning really is the best time to jog, then what would you say is the second best time?

Thanks in advance.

If you already take showers in the morning then it would only take getting up 20 min earlier before you normal time. Running in the morning jump starts your metabolism, you will burn more cals throughout the day.

I like to night run myself, better enviroment so i am able to push myself even farther.

Find what suites your schedule, its not going to make a huge difference.

you don't burn any more calories in the morning then any other time of the day, but the theory is that you will burn more fat because you don't have any readily available carbs from meals throughout the day to burn, so you will burn fat more easily. However, you will also burn more protein for the same reason, so if you are looking to maintain any muscle mass that you have, make sure that you top off with some good protein afterward.

also if you include some anaerobic spurts in your jogging you can actually increase your metabolism for quite a few hours following the exercise.

And actually you should have a meal that includes both protein and carbs because your body will utilize them more efficiently right after exercise (eat within 15 min). The carbs in your meal will be packed back into yor muscles in the form of glycogen and the protein will start repairing the muscle microtears.

Egg whites, protein pancakes, glass of milk, i dunno, just try to get good quality protein and complex carbs. I like a 30/20 protein/carb ratio respectively.

I agree w/ Vince, get a protein/complex carb in after your workout, a good one that i do is oatmeal and egg whites mixed together, or you could just cook the eggs and oameal sep. and then eat them
