People elsewhere may not be aware but there is a major milestone in the middle of the 150s which means a lot to Angel and myself because we think first in stones and pounds and that is how we weigh ourselves. 154 is a magic number for us - because that is 11 stone. Angel and I both want to be under 154. You can see therefore that we are now both hovering above that milestone.

Rep Power: 308438 | | | It looks like we all want to get under 154 really.
I think that anyone who weighs in stones just wants to get under that stone milestone more than anything else. It will be so fantastic to get a weight that starts with 10.
Isnt it great the way that the body always spends time hovering over milestones.
I even want to see 11 stone 0 too. I have a special reason for that. I started at 21 stone and it will be wonderful to lose 10 stone. After that I have a huge milestone at ten and a half when I will have lost half my bodyweight!

Rep Power: 5011 | | | You have done absolutely marvelous Omega. Well done to you. You are an inspiration to everyone.
10 seems to be the magic number. Like you in wanting to lose half of yourself that is my ultimately goal. I want to get to 130lbs but i will settle for 10st something if i get stuck lol.
157.5lbs

Now that I notice your ticker - you have done pretty damned marvellously yourself.
You must have only just passed that 100 pounds lost milestone and not even mentioned it here.
That is A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Rep Power: 5011 | | | Yeah i just passed it. Didn't jump for joy, you kind of get greedy the lower you get i find and nothing seems to keep ya happy lol.
Can i ask you if you have been left with saggy skin. My stomach is like a war zone to be quiet honest.

Rep Power: 308438 | | | There is most certainly loose skin - but I cannot help but feel that I have less than I deserve!
The worst part of me is my boobs. The are like a pair of big empty bags. I bundle them all up into my bra - and the big cups (36J) hides a multitude of sins.
My stomach is covered in stretch marks - but really that is nothing new. It has been covered in stretch marks since I gained weight rapidly over twenty years ago. As I shrink there is some loose skin there (so it looks a bit like crepe paper in places) - but probably more will come. I still have quite a spare tyre since I am only 5ft3 and have a small frame so I really need to loose at least another 2 stone but probably preferably more.
There is some loose skin at the tops of my legs - but they dont look too bad as long as I dont stick my leg out at right angles to make the loose skin hang down. I figure that a 48 year old woman should therefore not stick her leg out at right angles then!
The tops of my arms are pretty good. I have seen a lot worse on women my age that have always been skinny.
Do you do anything to try to help your skin? I dont know whether it helps at all - but I do the following to try and do my best:
- I do some creaming. I am not sure that the specialist creams (e.g. bio-oil) do that much good - but I do think that massage helps. I often use bio-oil or similar on my stomach and any old body lotion a number of other places.
- I drink 2.5 litres of water every day because I believe that it helps the skin
- I take a multivitamin (for zinc and certain vitamins), starflower oil and omega-3.
In all honesty I am sure that I will be left with some - and I cannot see my boobs ever going right. I havent made up my mind yet over whether I will consider surgery to sort things out - but I believe that you are best to leave things two years to see what shrinkage happens naturally anyway.
I am pretty sure that Wishes did a photo record of her loose skin on a thread somewhere.

Rep Power: 5011 | | | Thank you for replying.
I am covered in stretchmarks also but as you said mine are also there since i was a teen from the rapid weight grain and honestly i dont care about them. My stomach under the belly button is wrinkly and i jsut dont think it will every spring back as i am sure i killed all the elasticity in it. I was going to fork out for a tummy tuck but being 27 and havign no kids yet im afraid having kids and itll be all a waste of time anyway so i am learning to just live with it. I use bio oil also and three times a day a firming cream. I drink 6 litres of water a day as its the only drink i ever drink (no tea, pop etc). I go to the gym 5 times a week and use this spinning wheel at home to tighten up the stomach but i think its a lost cause at this stage.
Boobs another story. NEED rectifying. They have always been odd and now they are like just deflated anyway. One B cup, one C cup, and need lifting and evening out badly. I will be seeing about having that done once i lose all the weight.
I also have the spare tyre(s) going on. My stomach is just the pits. Its huge.
Ph well to deal with losing the rest of our weight first i guess and then access the other things, the weight now is the post important, if we lived with a 100+lb of fat on our asses i'm sure we can manage a few lb of extra skin here and there
(also like u have it on my upper inner legs but my arms are just terrible, more so than the legs)

Rep Power: 308438 | | | It could well eventually be tummy tucks and boob jobs all round for us formerly big girls then! I am not a big fan of pain so will do as much as I can to try to avoid it.
As you say - we can deal with the fat first and then worry about the loose skin later. I have heard that the loose skin itself is very light. People think that it is heavier and thicker than it is because they mentally include in a layer of fat just under the surface that hangs around longer.
I suppose we have a track record of managing to ignore the imperfections of our bodies.

Rep Power: 308438 | | | Well done. It looks like you are definitely going to get to 11 stone first. Angel has changed her scale and is back in the 160s on her new scale and my weight has shot up today due to TOM.

Rep Power: 18097 | | | Hey all, been a crazy couple weeks with midterms and stuff. Congrats on all your progress.
I was just reading your posts and it is comforting to know that my boobs are not the only ones looking like 2 towels on a rack. I was freaking out a bit thinking that I was going to have B cup amount of boobs (I used to be a B when I was in my late teens/ early 20's) in a DD amount of skin. Since one of my goals this summer is to wear a bikini I was mad thinking that all this work and I would be held back from the bikini by my boobs. I think my days of wearing Wal-mart bathing suits are over as they rarely have very much support. I am going to go to a place that only sells bathing suits, they are much more expensive but I think I will be able to find something that has adequate support.
My weight loss is still pretty slow but I decided I was going too hard at the gym and took a few days off from it and decided to try working out 4 days a week instead of 6 (my knees were getting a bit sore). I'll let you know how it works out.
