Oh so glad you guys bumped this thread up Unfortunately I so qualify for the 300 club ;/. I was down to 291 last November but then took a "day" off that lasted until May and gained almost all the weight I'd lost back. My highest weight ever was 348 but I'm down to 328 right now. I'm doing a low carb diet for other health reasons and well and I'm hoping to get below 300 soon.
loneliness sucks haha but i have a gym partner. we are going to miami together and we have established Operation Sexy Back: The Get Fly Movement hahaha. think wat u may but its working.
its not easy to do some weight loosing - i feel lonely sometimes too !!!
Yeah, It is hard, especially doing by yourself. But just remember you are not alone. That is the reason I joined this board. There are men like me in the same boat with the same goals. That is a big help. When I am feeling a little down or unmotivated I will go to the before and afters or the diaries and that motivates me. This time next year I will be one of the success stories and I hope others will be able to use my success for their motivation.
motivation wont be hard once u start feeling dif...it might take a lil to see the results but once u feel livelier and the number on the scale is decreasing ull feel like superman
Hey Everyone well I did not even bother to weigh in last week because of the traveling for work and I had to fly home the day I would normally get weighed in on. So I put it off to this week and I was down 1.4 pounds which made me smile. Whenever I go to get weighed in, after I had traveled I go with the anticipation that I would of gained weight so when the results show that you are down, I can't help to smile.
Wishing everyone and safe and fun 4th of July. Good look with all the weight loss. Looking as a mini-goal to be down in the 200's by the end of July.
countin down until the 21st because my gym buddy wanted to wait 3 weeks for our weigh in hopefully i reach my goal of seeing 300 n if not im goin to be disappointed
Well seeing it was the weigh in after the 4th of July I was anticipating a weight gain, but I was actually down .08 and when you are losing weight you take every ounce. Hopefully this weeks weigh in I will see pounds instead of ounces, but either way as long as the scale goes down I will be happy. Still shooting for the 2 as the first number in my weight by the end of July.
Great Job, those 2s are coming. I had a good 1st 13 days of July with a 4lb drop. I am still on schedule to be under 320 before the end of July.(4 pounds to go!). My next weigh in will be the end of July.
Quick intro: I'm Stan. I've been a member on the forums for a while but this is my first venture into the 'club' section - I usually stick to the journal sections. Thought I'd branch out to 1, get a bit more support and feedback and 2, make me feel as if more people are with me when I'm weak and may stray from the straight and narrow - like having more voices other than my own telling me NO, if you get what I mean.
This is my third attempt at losing weight. The first time I got down to the mid 290s before rising back over 300. The second attempt just went wrong from day one, I think I expected too much too soon. This time I'm taking it easy, 2lbs a week as a goal and I'm ready for the long haul. I'm currently at 327 and I'm going to get down to 196, one step at a time.
First goal is to, erm, get out of this club!! Only 28lbs to go!
Welcome Stan. That is why we are here, for support. You and I are at about the same spot. A little over 20 lbs to go to be in the 200's.
What are you doing different this time around? For me it was not following a "diet" but just educating myself on what my body needs and how much I need to lose weight and at a steady and realistic rate. I also do extensive food journaling and that for me has been the key. I was able to spot patterns and correct them. I have been doing this for 6 weeks now and have lost 26lbs as of Sunday last week.
Thanks vonbrynt. I'm just being sensible about what I eat really and aiming to keep the cals down while trying to get more exercise. Last time I set a cals limit and became almost obsessive about doing so, meaning that if I did stray over I felt guilty. I think I set my limit too low also, aiming for quicker results which, although I got them, wasn't sustainable over the long term.
This time I'm aiming for around 1800 cals, but I don't worry too much if I go over or under. I'm ready for the long haul too this time.
I've been going for a fortnight already but due to broken scales, I've no idea how far I've so far come. I invested in a new set yesterday though, so that was my new day 1.
but then took a "day" off that lasted until May and gained almost all the weight I'd lost back .
At least Im not the only one with the day off But mine has lasted for a few years. Been lurking here and Im just starting out, but I'm at 306 now, and I'd like to be at 205 by this time next year. Hopefully I can find and keep the motivation to start and complete the change. You guys are inspiring though, and it's nice to see a forum where people are real and not just sales drones out to sell you the latest fad.
Hello everyone,Im quite new here and am also a member of the 300 pound club but hopefully I'll be in the 2's soon.
I Started at 342 on 4th june ,but started weight lifting on the 15th june and as of today 19th july I am hovering around 301-303.
I am on a diet of 2-2200 cals high protein/med carbs and fat.Training wise weightlifting 4x per week with little or no cardio(I know I should up this but I cant get over the mindset of 30 mins on treadmill equates to just eating 100g less of rice or whatever).
My goals are to get to around 230 big and solid, I used to be a shot putter and am a thick set guy anyway so a "slim" 180 does not appeal to me. And just to buy clothes from a normal shop(a modest target for most people but after years of buying 5xl shirts and 52" trousers ive had enough).
Good luck to all of us and I'll see you on the other side

gbone, I used to shot put as well but was more disciplined in the discus when in High School.
I'm with you, My goal is to get back to where I looked and felt my best- around 215-220lbs. I have quite a bit of muscle still, you just cannot see it with all of the extra weight.
I also know how you feel about Cardio, I do very little but have always done quite a bit of weight training. I stepped up my weight training with an additional body weight plan- Push ups, squats, chin-ups etc.. They engage more muscle groups so I get a better workout than just doing single muscle centric exercises.
Glad to have you on board, It looks like you will be in the 200s very soon! I will be there by the end of summer.
