gbone i feel what ur saying. my main reason why im trying to lose the weight besides being healthy is to clean up my appearance, i want to up my wardrobe and stuff like that. went shoppin this past weekend and was buyin sizes i could only imagine fitting into last summer...currently 300 flat and im more strict on my diet and increased my cardio so im planning to see yall on the other side...
Hey everyone. Thought I'd report in with today's weigh in.
Although I started a few weeks ago and it's obvious I lost a little weight before, this is my first actual recorded loss. I'm down 3.2lbs from Friday and I'll now be settling into a regular weekly weigh in each Wednesday. With any luck in a few months I can say farewell to this club and get into the 200s! Woo!
Well I was down 1.6 pounds this week, but with the 2.2 pounds I gained last week it still puts me at .6 ounces heavier then I was on 7-10-08. Will those 2's ever come? Well good luck to everyone this week and welcome to those new members. Note the weight tracker on bottom is incorrect, off by .6 ounces, to depressed to update it. (LOL)
I am solidly in the 300 club (394 lbs) and have set a total weight lossgoal of 225 lbs which will put me at 165 and a BMI of 24.4, just below the top end of what I should weigh. So seeing that I have 95 lbs to lose to get below 300 lbs, I guess you will read alot from me. Its not like I will lose it all in 1 week. 1 month maybe, but definately not 1 week.
What is your plan of attack? Are you on any specialized diet or are you just making better choices?
Read the nutrition stickies. They helped me a great deal.
I asked my personel DR for some help and he prescribed Wellbutrin and Celexa (both anti depressants) to help my emotional eating problems. I am already taking Elavil (another anti depressant) for its pain releaving and sedative properties. Those 3 combined witha daily dose of phentermine has completely wiped out my appetite. The first day the drugs had their cumulative effects debut, I was doing a smoked pork roast on the grill for my family get together. Between morning shopping, food prep and manning the grill for 6 hours, I was in quite a bit of pain from a back injury and wanted to sit and rest before I ate. Well, I forgot to eat. Later that evening I relized that all I had to eat the entire day was 1 choclate chip cookie and 3 small bites of the pork roast only to check for flavor and doneness. The next day, again I was busy with my parents, brother and sister in law and their kids, and nevr got a chance to eat breakfast or lunch and when we sat down for dinner, I still wasn't hungry, although I was feeling weak from no food for 2 days, so I ahd a taco salad.
The last few days has been the same, so that is why I figured now would be a good time to start a serious campaign against my waste line(pun intended). So, I will break up a severe calorie restriction into 6 small meal/snacks to keep my insulin level even. Probably 1000-1200 calories (or less if I can intake enough vitamins and mienrals) daily 7 days a week. I need to blow off as much weight as I can before I can start doing any serious exercise program; as I mentioned earlier I have a back injury. I can't walk for more than 10 minutes or so before my back starts killing me, so I am going to try to walk for 10 minutes 5 - 6 times per day until I can increase the amount of time I can stay on my feet. I would love to be able to go swimming, but I am not working right now because of my back and that means I am severely short on money and can not afford to join the YMCA or Golds and use their pool.
I am looking into the B6/B12 and Lipotrophic injections as well.
Hey rocky_lange, good luck with your campaign. I'm far from an expert but I do know the whole weight loss fight can be a real battle - but it's one that can be won with effort and determination. All of us in the 300 club are pretty much in the same boat one way or another but all of us can get out of this club and into the 2s!
I know how you must feel with the back injury. A few years ago I was in a car accident which left me with relatively mild back problems - but even that can be a torment at times with days on end of constant pain. I count myself lucky to not constantly suffer so my thoughts are with you on that one.
I'm aiming for small wins and playing weight loss golf with myself. Each week is a 'hole' and 2lbs is the 'par' loss. After the first week I'm 1 under par after losing 3.2lbs!
Anyways, I dropped by the club to report my latest weigh-in showing a loss of 4.4lbs. Just another 20 to go to get down to 300, then I'm almost out of here!
Just did my end of month weigh in. I also dropped 4 lbs so I guess I am tied with Stan at 320. So far I have been really pleased with the rate of loss. It is going about 10 lbs a month and I feel that that is a healthy rate.
Good luck to all in the 300 club! we will all get into the 200's.
Make sure you eat enough. I know it is hard but trust me you will be better in the long run to up your calories. Going on an extreme caloric restriction is not the way to go because you cannot sustain that for a lifetime. Old habits die really hard, I was a junk food junkie. I ate fast food everyday, drank enough soda to make you sick. Went to a clean diet, something that I can sustain. I still feel the pull of the drive-thru but can resist it. The longer I go without that junk the easier it has become to resist temptation. Just trying to replace bad habits with good habits.
If you cannot get to a gym, look into body weight resistance exercises that you can do at home.
I'm in. I currently weigh in the 370 range (Down from 485 a couple of years ago) I've started a new career that focuses on health so I need to set an example to the patients (I'm a massage therapist and rehab tech at a physical therapy office) I'm gonna take my weight, measurements, and pic's and try to post them in the next couple of days. Goal is to be in the 200 and over club (Haven't been there in almost 10 years!!!!)

I am definitely happy with weight loss, but i'm still focusing on ultimate goal of around 260. I've already conquered seat belt extenders and plastic lawn chairs. Compact cars and clothes that you can but in regular stores are next.
You're doing a cracking job Adrian. I can't wait (or is that weight! lol) to be able to go into a regular shop, find a shirt or pair of jeans I like and not have to search through to find if they have do them big enough for me. All in good time I guess
