Rep Power: 0 | | | Yeah me!!! Lost 10 lbs last week alone! Total since my doctor's visit/wake up call, 17 lbs in less than a month. It is amazing how much of a difference it makes just by watching what I stick in my pie hole and a little exercise.
I haven't even started my diet yet. I just started the gym and have only been there 3 times. When I get crackin', I will be between 1000 and 1200 calories a day and minimum 30 min cardio 5-6 times a week and strength training for about 1 hour 4-6 times per week. And, trying to drink half my weight in lbs in oz of water each day(weight in lbs/2=oz of water). Right now that is 1 1/2 gallons .
I should be dropping about 1-2 pounds a day for a few months (no, not the healthiest way, but being almost 400 lbs at 5'9" is not healthy either and I have my doctor's approval to do this short term) to about 10 lbs/month where it should be.

Rep Power: 7 | | Down almost 13 lbs now since I started, and thats with a week of vacation last week
I found just cutting out a bit of dinner, and trying to eat healther lunches and snacks along with getting to the gym are just what the doctor ordered. I'm trying to stay around 1800-2000 calories a day, along with the gym. |

I am new to the board and was actually just going to read and not post until I saw this thread. I have learned so much by reading the 300 pound club. Reading about so many people losing weight and sticking to their programs is extremely motiviating to me. Personally I have fallen off the wagon of so many diets.
My wife weighs less than half of what I weigh and she does not care that I am obese. She says "look at the bright side at least you are in good health and in pretty good shape." I believe she says that because for the most part I eat pretty healthy, lots of veggies and fruit. I eat red meat on rare occassions (spl) I usually eat fist or chicken for my protein. I do however, like eating out and fast food and fried foods. I love to drink beer and diet soda. So I know that I'm going to have to make some obvious changes in my eating habits.
I get myself checked out once a year to make sure I dont have diabetes or high cholesterol. I sold my eliptical machine a few months ago but when I had it I was riding it for 45min to an hour non stop. I go out sometimes when I am board and go for a mile walk.
I feel that the little that I do for exercise is not working for me. I am afraid to going out and jogging or doing calistetics. I really do not know what will hurt me and what will over tax my heart. I am however, feeling a lot more comfortable in making some choices now that I see others in the 300 pound club doing some of the exercises that I want to do. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I've really got to get in gear, I'm back up to 375. Fortunately my doctors visit was fine, I've been way to lucky and blessed. I really need to start exercising. These last few posts are certainly inspiring. I have got to get some focus. |

Rep Power: 11 | | 2.8lbs lost this week. Smaller than my recent losses, but large enough to keep me happy.
A.Torres & carolinaguy - focus is the key and in my experience that comes along with will and knowledge. Exercise is half the way there, the other half is eating a healthy, balanced diet that works for you.
If you really really want to lose weight sucessfully, you can and will. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Hello everyone, I am new here, I currently weigh 339 pounds. I wish to get to 240-250 pounds.
My past diet experience is somewhat like a yo-yo, in 10th grade I weighed 395, droped to 325 before my junior year, but after I graduated I quit lifting weights and working out. And went back up to 358lbs, and back down to 339. I am hopeful that using these forums will help keep me encouraged by talking with others with the same problem. |

Torres, Do you live near a bicycle trail? Preferrably a paved one? I found that cycling was one of the only exercises that I could do comfortably. I started with a durable mountain bike and one of those oversized spring seats until I could get some distance in. Now I'm using a road bike and running higher speeds and longer mileages. BTW, you'll still never see my butt out jogging!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I started going to the gym 2 weeks ago and was getting frustrated. After dropping a quick 10 lbs, I stopped losing weight. For a week and a half, working out 4-5 times per week, the scale wouldn't budge. But, even though I was upset, I wasn't mad. My pants were fitting a LOT looser. For every lb of fat I lost, I was gaining a lb of muscle!
I took body measurements before I started working out and I can't wait to measure again at the end of the month. Even though I couldn't see the weight loss(my eyes are always on the scale) my girlfriend says she can already see a difference.
Oh yeah, the scale finally moved today. Down another 6 lbs! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | 8-21-08 Down 1 more lb this week. I was hoping for more, but I am happy the scale did not go up. Still hoping to be in the 200 lb club by 8-28-08, so wish me luck everyone. Then I am off to Vegas and hopefully I will not set myself back to much with all the fun I plan on having in Vegas. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Well after being stuck for a little over a week I suddenly dropped 5 pounds in 2 days and it didn't come back. At first I assumed it was water weight since I had been hauling a lot of hay and sweating alot but 6 hours of it over 2 days caused me to lose 5 pounds.
I shall never underestimate exercise again.
Since I started working on losing weight 3 and a half weeks ago I am averaging 4.8pounds a week, though I am sure it will slow down again soon enough. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
