Rep Power: 0 | | I'm pretty much doing it the same way as Jeremy is. I eat lean meats, the right carbs, fruit and vegetables. I work out 5-6 days a week which includes cardio and weight training. Drink nothing by water.....one or two beers on the weekends, and eat 5-6 times per day. I'm fortunate that I haven't cheated once or had the desire to. Just keep pluggin' away at it, day by day. |

Rep Power: 6 | | Right on ILTodd, eating with common sense obviously works. Why couldn't I come to that conclusion about 20 years ago.......
Hillbillylee (great name by the way) glad to have you aboard. Sounds like you know what you need to do!!
I got an elipticle about a week and a half ago, I can easily walk for a couple of miles but this thing is the "devil in diguise" ha ha. I use it every day, from what I have been reading most people measure in time, I measure in distance. So when I first started on it I could only got .3 miles. Today I have doubled that to .6, I am sure that I can do more but there is a mental block, my heart rate was 108/min. So the old ticker was still wanting more. That thing is a great overall workout. My friend gave me a gym quality stairstepper, I really didn't ever want to plug it in. I have bad knees but its really not that high impact. I can do it for a minute at a time, may sound like a small amount but I remember not being able to do it at all last year. My friend also gave me a Weider 9265 gym which has 2 different station built in and all kinds of different exercises available. I have been trying to get it put together for the last couple of days........ I'm the kind of person that when something needs put together, I take my daughter out for a couple of hours and the Mrs's handles it If its not a guitar I can't fix it.
Hows that for boring morning banter, well its gonna be a great day everyone, lets do our best to stay on program!!
Happy Friday |

Rep Power: 6 | | | Exercise One thing I did want to mention, sometimes you hear people say, oh I walked 34 miles today or did 200 push ups, well thats great, BUT do not let that discourage you from doing any exercise no matter how small.
If you walk just out to the mailbox, its a begining. If you can lift your arms above your head 20 times, its something. Do what you can do, it all is good for you and your body. You will be surprised how just a little bit of exercise can get the body working and help get rid of the pounds.
Try to set aside a little time each morning and night just to start with, maybe 5 minutes and do what ever you can to get your body working!!! |

Rep Power: 6 | | | Do you know what NSV means? Has anyone ever heard of the term NSV? It stands for "Non Scale Victory". Here are some of my NSV's:
1. My belly no longer rubs on my steering wheel in my car.
2. I can comfortably sit in my patio chairs now (first time since we got them)
3. I have given away half of my clothes since they are now too big.
Thats just a few, anyone have some NSV's they want to share?? |

I actually did .6 miles on it today, moved up .1 from the rest of the week. |

I can't agree with you more on this!! I am getting out of the 300 club, because I think this club sucks..lol
what you said before about being discouraged, boy you must know me, when I read what others are doing it is dicouraging when I compare myself, SO, I have stoped comparing myself to others, and stay happy with what I know is great for me to accomplish!
Also those NVS thingys, well I haven't gotten any except that when I go walking/running I can run a little longer now! Which is so wonderful, it makes me feel like I'm getting somehwere, that all my hard work and effort is WORKING!!!!! |
