Balancing weight loss

i've been losing weight for a couple months now and everyone's been telling me i look really thin.. in kind of a bad way. i eat plenty but i also do a lot of cardio. i noticed that my face and neck seem to lose a lot more mass than the rest of my body. so when i think i haven't lost much weight just by looking at my stomach, its really just drained from my face. is there anyway to avoid this or emphasize weight loss more on the body than on my neck? i also don't really want to gain any muscle mass by lifting weights too much.. im lost!

spas is a jewel in the rough
You won't gain THAT much muscle mass by lifting weights. If it were that easy, we'd all be ripped. You should lift weights because your body burns more calories simply by having muscle to maintain. It requires more energy than maintaining the same amount of fat, so you create more of a calorie deficit.

There isn't really anything you can do unfortunately. People's bodies lose weight in different places based on genetics and what they do. I lose it in my abs pretty easily (lucky me) but god forbid my thighs get thinner. Try running or taking a class that emphasizes twisting or other core aerobic work if you want that midsection to go away.

Callie21 has a spectacular aura about
If you don't lift weights or do some kind of resistance to maintain your muscle, you won't be losing all fat, you'll be losing about half fat and half muscle...which will only make you a smaller version of your original body. If you want to look lean all over, you want to get your bf% down by keeping your muscle and only losing fat. I've read studies that say dieting w/ resistance training will help you lose almost all fat.
