Question Question

I understand that you should eat approx 5-6 meals a day to speed up your metabolism so you can lose weight. So, I have been eating breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, mid afternoon snack, supper. Very rarely do I eat a snack after supper. My question is.... if you aren't hungry when it comes to the mid morning and afternoon snack do you still eat one anyway???? I mean, it is time for my morning snack and I am not at all hungry even though it has been almost three hours since I ate breakfast. I want to do this right so I am seeking advice from all of you out there. Do I still eat a snack if I am not hungry?

Thumbs up snacks

Hi Jennylynn,

I am eating six meals a day about 2hrs apart and generally my meals consist of 150-250 cals each. I eat the meals whether I am hungry or not because it keeps my blood sugar level on track which keeps me from binging. I read that a meal needs to be at least 150 cal. to have a positive effect on your metabolism. So I would reccommend eating lower cal. meals (but no lower than 150 cal.) when you are not very hungry. You will eventually get your body used to the schedule. I have had the best luck with weight loss and sticking to my diet and exercise plan when i follow this schedule. I truly believe it works.

I hope this helps

Julie

you should always be eating before you body tells you to ... cuz, if it gets to that point, your body is feeling deprived and is looking for more resources ... those resources should always be readily available. Of course, it's a different story if you still feel full.

One word answer that makes all people cringe. CRUNCHES! Trying to do full situps will just frustrate you and they are hard on your spine. Crunches are more effective. Start off just like a situp but use only your stomach muscles and lift your upper body just a few inches. also pelvic thrusts for the lower abs.

I agree totally with Allcdn's post... b/c if you wait until lunch, then you will be REALLY hungry and more likely to eat more (and slip up on your food plan)... better to take small portions in intervals
